A major problem encountered in the juvenile courts concerns the large number of young offenders placed on probation, as well as the seriousness of their violations. Representative studies by Jenkins and Glickman (1947), Hathaway and Monachesi (1953), and Shinohara and Jenkins (1967) have pointed out the complexities of delinquent behavior by indicating that most legal authorities are often unable to determine who will repeat illegal acts.
This problem necessitates some objective approach toward identifying potential repeaters and non-repeaters. Such a technique would be useful in studying the early stages of delinquent behavior and provide a means of studying the growing …

A Computerized Simulation Of A Personal Rapid Transit System., James Richard Cromer
A Computerized Simulation Of A Personal Rapid Transit System., James Richard Cromer
Masters Theses
"The movement of people from an origin to a destination has become a complex and sometimes severe problem, The present modes of transportation available, which include the rapid rail systems, bus transit service, and the personal automobile, have proven quite ineffective in dealing with the situation, A new concept in the transportation area is that of Personal Rapid Transit (PRT). This concept offers a promising solution to many of our people and goods movement difficulties. Before this new system can be implemented it is necessary that various design, construction, and operational criteria be evaluated to determine the optimal system to …
Interpretation Of Imagery Lineations, Logan Creek Area, Southeast Missouri, Gregory Paul Smith
Interpretation Of Imagery Lineations, Logan Creek Area, Southeast Missouri, Gregory Paul Smith
Masters Theses
"Depletion of ore in Missouri's old lead districts and the opening of the state's new lead district adds impetus to understanding and delineating geologic structure in and adjacent to the new lead district. Image and geomorphic analysis, hydrologic data, and subsurface structural contour mapping are used in interpretation of geologic structure in Dent, Shannon, Reynolds, and Carter counties, Missouri. Unlike the time consuming surface geologic mapping, the modes of investigation used in this study enabled the writer to make a larger, regional-scale study with results comparable to those attainable by surface mapping. The area is covered by thick residual soils …
Study Of Techniques For Designing Large Digital Systems Interactively., Harold Dale Puls
Study Of Techniques For Designing Large Digital Systems Interactively., Harold Dale Puls
Masters Theses
"FLOWWARE [1-4] is an interactive register transfer language based upon the concept of flowcharting. The graphic nature of the language, however, generates a few disadvantages when it is used on a large design. Changes have been made to the basic FLOWWARE package to aid the user in specifying and displaying his design. In addition, responsibility for the design has been shifted to the remote large computer to lessen the size requirement on the local minicomputer"--Abstract, p. ii

Transformer Connection Study For 138 Kv To 12.47 Kv Substations Of The Union Electric Company St. Louis, Missouri, John Glenn Walsh
Transformer Connection Study For 138 Kv To 12.47 Kv Substations Of The Union Electric Company St. Louis, Missouri, John Glenn Walsh
Masters Theses
"This thesis examines the transformer connections that can be used in the new 138-12.47 kV substations on the Union Electric power system. The object is to determine if a zero phase shift transformer without a delta connected tertiary winding can be used and economically justified. Traditionally a delta winding has been automatically included for this application without taking engineering time and effort to study all ramifications including possible dollar savings available with other connections. Three transformer manufacturers supplied technical and cost data which are analyzed, based on Union Electric system conditions. Consideration of relaying, harmonics and unbalanced loading shows that …
