The oyster has been known and used commercially since before the Roman and Greek civilizations, and reports of investigations pertaining to it can be found dating back almost to that period. Because of the commercial value of the oyster, most of the study of' the animal has dealt with its economic importance. Definite information concern ing the morphology and microscopic . structure of this Mollusc, therefore, is scarce. There are a great many devices for solving differential equations of certain special forms. But there is a large number of classes of differential equations that are not included in these special forms and cannot be integrated by quadratures or other purely elementary methods. In presenting a subject of this kind it is evident that some limitations must be set. A full treatment of Totalitarianism would necessitate not only an examination of its various aspects as exemplified by the several nations of the world under Dictator rule today, but also some consideration of strong totalitarian tendencies in many of the so-called democracies of the world.
