This is the first study to demonstrate the app effectiveness with multi-center randomized controlled trials for women with breast cancer undergoing chemotherapy in China. Our study has global significance because mobile apps are being increasingly utilized as supplementary interventions for individuals when it is not feasible to provide face-to-face interventions.

Research suggest an acceleration of adolescent physical maturity and a slowing of psychological and behavioral development compared to prior decades. This project reports the effects of engaging youth in the critical appraisal of theological content on adolescent moral development as a strategy to promote adolescent well-being and health.

The study aimed to examine the effects of a face-to-face educational intervention on nurses' knowledge of, beliefs about, and attitudes toward EBP, and their perceived ability to implement EBP. A pretest/posttest quasi-experimental randomized design was used. The results could encourage nurse leaders to promote teaching EBP in clinical settings.

The infrastructure for nursing research in the Netherlands is fragile and struggling and postdoctoral nurses are confronted with limited career opportunities. Leadership Mentoring in Nursing Research program was developed to strengthen leadership and career development of postdoctoral nurses. The fellows evaluations were positive, describing changes in identity and leadership practices.

The presentation will discuss the revised Universal Design in Healthcare Education instrument measuring healthcare educators' perceptions towards inclusive teaching methods based in universal design (UD) and findings from the face/content validity and test-retest reliability. Sepsis is life-threatening organ dysfunction. Half of the mortality observed in the hospital settings is attributable to multiple organ dysfunction syndrome. Evidence based guidelines recommend early detection and quick interventions to prevent progression of sepsis to Multi-organ Dysfunction Syndrome. Early interventions to focus on antibiotics, hemodynamic stabilization and pulmonary stabilization.

Childhood maltreatment is strongly associated with inflammatory related disease, such as cardiovascular disease (CVD). Our study demonstrates that women veterans report high levels of childhood maltreatment as compared to civilians and childhood maltreatment is associated with a serum biomarker of endothelial dysfunction, a precursor of CVD

A focus group was conducted to identify strategies to overcome barriers to male-student education in a pre-licensure nursing program. Five themes emerged: Increasing male faculty presence, opportunities for male-to-male support, recognition of gender-driven incivility by students, faculty behavior and communication that demonstrate gender inclusivity, and development of a gender-balanced curriculum.

A systematic review of literature was conducted to explore the application of fenestrated tracheostomy tubes. While there is risk for complications, fenestrated tracheostomy tubes can potentially be beneficial in certain circumstances, especially for weaning patients from mechanical ventilation and in patients who have previous complications with other tracheostomy tubes.

This qualitative, phenomenological study examines the lived experiences of U.S. faculty teaching online Korean RN-BSN students. Research includes a survey instrument with open-ended questions about faculty perceptions in teaching these students, and follow-up interviews for data validity. Findings of this study have multinational implications for nursing education.

Microenterprise programs provide vulnerable populations, the majority of whom are women, access to educational and financial resources to start small businesses. Many international programs acknowledge the employment-health link and promote health as a form of collateral through primary and secondary prevention interventions. Health promotion is not as prevalent in United States (US) programs and further investigation is required to identify the health needs of women microentrepreneurs. The study was conducted in collaboration with a community development financial organization which provides credit and services to entrepreneurs who do not have access to traditional lending.

The use of a sedation vacation protocol was evaluated in a medical intensive care unit. Only 67% of the electronic medical records documented that this protocol was used by the nursing staff. Continuing education should stress the need for using and documenting this protocol to improve patient outcomes.
