This research reports the qualitative outcomes of a study on patient reported barriers and enablers to attending Cardiac Rehabilitation (CR) programs in Saudi Arabia. The results include the association between culture and care management. Furthermore, this work highlights recommendations of patients about improving the current CR programs.

While there is a large body of studies investigating the levels of nurses’ competence, a limited number of studies have examined factors contributing to its development. Moreover, there is a paucity of studies that have explored how these factors differ for nurses with different lengths of clinical experience. The purpose of the present study was to clarify the factors that contribute to the development of nursing competence among nurses with different lengths of clinical experience.

This paper presents a novel framework that uses the mnemonic "Have you SCAND MMe Please?". The framework integrates eight factors sensitive to the quality of nursing care that contribute to preventable harms common among older hospitalised patients. Nurses can use this framework to support comprehensive harm prevention strategies.

Influence Of Different Climates On The Replacement Time Of Peripheral Intravenous Catheters: A Meta-Analysis, Chia-Chi Kuo

This systematic review and meta-analysis included nine RCTs. The results showed that there was no significant difference in the risk ratio for phlebitis, local infection, bloodstream infection, and catheter occlusion, between clinically indicated replacement and routine three-day replacement, in three different climate subgroups.

Structured patient education sessions teach oncology patients about newly prescribed oral chemotherapy medication. Sessions assist patients to identify barriers that may cause non-adherence to prescribed medication. Sessions promote skills, increase knowledge and improve positive healthcare provider relationships which maintain adherence when medication regimens are given in the outpatient setting.

The leading cause of morbidity and mortality following anesthesia is major adverse cardiac events, or MACE. There are two potential pathways for improvement of this issue during pre-operative assessment and prevention: updating cardiac risk assessment guidelines, and improving guideline adherence and risk assessment accuracy with clinical decision support tools.

Research suggests that the use of dexmedetomidine (DEX)improves patient outcomes during alcohol withdrawal, including decreased intubation time and reduction in alcohol withdrawal symptoms. A retrospective chart review of adult patients in ICU with alcohol withdrawal was completed. It was determined that a DEX evidence-based medication regimen was not regularly implemented.
