More than 80% adults of all races fail to meet these recommended physical activity guidelines in the United States. How a genetic component in a Cystic Fibrosis simulation scenario enhanced pre-licensure baccalaureate nursing students' self-perceived ability to integrate genomics into their knowledge base of nursing and nursing care. Four major themes emerged pertaining to genomic integration into simulation: genomics and nursing; patient education; teamwork exercise and patient-nurse relationship.

The session will present nursing students' knowledge and practices related to occurrence, prevention and management of sharp object injuries (SOIs) during clinical practices. 25% of the respondents reported having sustained at least one SOI. Low reporting rates of SOI incidents, knowledge and practice gaps will be highlighted. Recommendations are included.

The paper provides analysis of motherhood among HIV+ black women of African Descent in three Countries. It measured Motherhood on the "Being a Mother Scale" and analysed the socio-cultural and psychosocial determinants of motherhood in the study populations. Infant feeding practice was one significant factor.

Using a purposeful sample of 223 healthcare professionals working in four ICUs, this study examines the relationships of moral distress among interprofessional ICU teams. Moral distress was found among all professional roles with significant differences seen between direct and indirect healthcare providers.

Problem Solving Therapy Reduces Burden In Caregivers Of Family Members With A New Cognitive Diagnosis, Linda J. Garand

We examined whether problem-solving therapy (PST) would prevent or treat burden among family caregivers of persons with a recent diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or early-stage dementia (AD). Relative to caregiver's receiving nutritional training (NT), PST improved caregiver's perceived burden (worry) and dementia-related behavioral burden levels, over time.

This review explores patterns in parental behavior that increase/decrease the chance of a child becoming obese by using the PFSQ (Parental Feeding Style Questionnaire). Results of the review indicate that parental emotional and instrumental feeding styles are correlated with increased food intake in children.
