The study presented outlines current rationales for promoting the use of interprofessional education within nursing curricula to better prepare students for transition to practice. An innovative experiential learning application supports desired behavior outcomes. Student perceptions and attitudes toward interprofessional education were measured through reflective journaling and a validated tool.

Life Satisfaction And Realized Expectations Post-Immigration (Using The Reali Scale) Among English-Speaking Immigrants, Cheryl Zlotnick, Laura Dryjanska

This study examined the relationship between life satisfaction and acculturation for immigrants from four English-speaking countries, adjusting for confounders including: family support, demographic characteristics, and years in the host country. Findings suggest that after adjusting for confounders, life satisfaction was connected to health status and realized expectations post-immigration.

Results from funded study testing a pre-licensure nursing student-focused Gerontologic Nursing Competency Skills Tool in 6 diverse schools/colleges of nursing with students and faculty are presented. Older adults' emergency departments (EDs) visits increase globally. Since the patterns of older adults' EDs usage differed from other age groups, identifying their risk factors related to emergency would be beneficial. Chest pain, dizziness, dyspnea and hypoalbuminemia were related to emergency in EDs visits by older adults in South Korea.

Review of the 4-week RIDE rotation: a series of online modules on interprofessional/recovery concepts for graduate students (mental health nursing, pharmacy, nutrition, exercise physiology) with 3-day clinical immersion. Seventy-six students (4 cohorts) participated. Presentation of results from quantitative team attitude/team development assessments, and from qualitative focus groups.

Nursing students in a baccalaureate program completed reflective assignments on their perception of older adults over three semesters during the first year to learn if their perceptions changed over time. Students demonstrated stereotypical responses in the first semester with a dramatic shift in focus by the third semester.
