The Reorganization Of The School Districts Of Minnehaha County, South Dakota, Harold Frank Janneck

In general terms the purpose of this study is to present a plan for the rearrangement of the school administrative unit boundaries of Minnehaha County, South Dakota. This rearrangement will be so designed that it will facilitate the improvement of the educational opportunities offered to pupils of this county. At the same time, this plan will be designed to equalize the tax burden of the total area involved.

The purpose of this investigation is to determine the incidence of death and crippling and its relationship to total numbers of swine marketed, to graphically illustrate annual, seasonal, monthly, weekly and daily patterns of swine marketing, death and injury, to relate length of-haul to incidence of loss and, to study the combined effect of year, month and distance hauled on rate of loss and damage.

Estimating Output And Operating Expenses Of Municipally-Owned Public Utilities In Brookings, South Dakota, 1959 To 1970, Rodney Delos Peterson

In this study, an attempt was made to estimate the amount of operating expenses that may be required to maintain the municipality owned public utilities in Brookings, South Dakota, from 1959 to 1970. The basic assumption of this study was that the anticipated increase in enrollments at South Dakota State College would cause the population of Brookings to grow to a considerable degree and at a very rapid rate.

This study attempts to show the relationship of developed ability and achievement to size of high school. The feeling that an ultimate criteria for determining optimum school size should be student achievement prompted an investigation based on the following purposes: 1) to compare the ability and developed ability of student groups from high schools differing in enrollments, using the variable size of high school; 2) to determine whether a relationship exists between first year college grade point average and size of high school; and 3) using the same variable as mentioned previously, to contrast college freshmen English grades. This study was designed to investigate differences, if any, in respiration rates found among varieties

generally similar but strongly contrasting in a few specific yield influencing characters. The basic assumption has been that yield is the summation of p hysiological processes and the components of yield should therefore also be expected to be based on these processes. Eight oat varieties which represented gross differences in phenotypic expression of yield, maturity and plant type were selected for this study. Since protein anabolic agents are known to affect the rate of protein synthesis, this study was initiated in an effort to determine the effect of a drug of this type on extraction wound healing. A total of twenty-five female, Sprague-Dawley rats ranging in weight from 195-260 gms. were chosen as participants. After a two-week adjustment period, the animals were separated into a control and treatment group. Starting one day prior to extraction and continuing daily for a total of 14 days the treated rats were injected with 1.0 mgm. of 17- alpha-ethyl-19-nortestosterone in 0.04 ml. of a solution of 10% …

The objectives of this study were as follows: 1) to determine the nature of the seasonal pattern and to select an appropriate method to obtain a reliable index of seasonal variation in the production of eggs; 2) to test the reliability of the indexes by use of charts and the index of irregularity; and 3) to demonstrate the use of the indexes in forecasting egg production. This investigation dealt with an evaluation of the heat extracted from milk during the cooling operation as a supplementary heat source for maintaining milkhouse temperatures during cold weather. It involved the design of a bulk milk cooler installation incorporating remote placement of the compressor to eliminate the sum mer ventilation problem and a venting system whereby air from the milkhouse may be circulated over the condenser coil during cold weather to pick up the heat rejected by the cooling unit.
