Survival, Growth, And Food Habits Of Brook Trout Introduced Into An Eastern South Dakota Stream, Larry W. Kallemeyen

Brook trout were introduced into the South Fork Yellow Bank River, an eastern South Dakota stream, on October 11, 1966. A supplemental brook trout plant was made on June 8, 1967. Survival for the initial plant from October, 1966 through October, 1967 was 2.4%. Survival for the supplemental plant from June, 1967 through October, 1967 was 21.0%. Trout from both plants took part in spawning activities during the fall of 1967. Average length of trout from the initial plant increased 9.8 cm during one year. Their average condition factor reached a peak in June, 1967 after being low throughout the …

Behavior and movement studies were carried out on the Rifle-Calahan Study area, Sanborn County, South Dakota, in 1965 and 1966. Objectives of the study were to evaluate radio telemetry techniques, determine the territorial area and home range of the hen and cock, study the behavior pattern of hen and cock in the harem makeup, determine the distance traveled by the hen when attracted to the harem, determine if the hen nests in the immediate area of the crowing territory, and study the behavior of the hen while nesting and caring for the brood. This thesis deals with the events and issues which were connected with the 1935 gubernatorial election. There is first a brief sketch of Kentucky politics prior to the 1935 election. Particular interest is given to the history of the Democratic party and the split which occurred in it at the turn of the century. A great deal of attention is given to the factional struggles which occurred in the period between 1931 and 1935. The controversy and drive for a primary law is discussed in detail. A Critical Comparison Of The Restitution Motifs Of The Campbells (1809-1830) And The Anabaptists (1524-1560), Richard Thomas Hughes

Many students have been impressed with the restitutionist character of the Radical Reformation and have observed certain similarities between that movement and the Restoration movement in America. The primary problem and purposes of this study are therefore twofold: (1) Were the two movements really similar, and if so, to what extent? (2) If both groups started with essentially the same presuppositions regarding the Scriptures, the church that was to be restored, and the method of restitution, how should one account for any differences that existed in practice?

Yield Components Of Spring Oats As Affected By Seeding Rate And Fertility Level, Robert Yung-Yen Yeh

Experiments with oats have shown approximately equal yields from a wide range of seeding rates. Also, oats usually respond to an adequate supply of plant food elements. Yield is a product. As Grafius (12) pointed out, the yield of oats may be represented geometrically as the volume of a rectangular parallelepiped with edges X1= number of panicles per unit area, X2= average number of seeds per panicle, and X3= average weight per seed. Multiplied together X1X2X3 equals Y, yield. All changes in the yield components need not be expressed as changes in yield, but all changes in yield must be …
