Some Indications Of The Reinforcement Effects Of Cooperative Extension Programs Broadcast From Kota-Tv, Rapid City, South Dakota, A Commercial Television Station, Francis Elizabeth Maierhauser
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
This study was undertaken in an attempt to determine to what extent commercial television--an example of mass communication—acts as a contributory agent in the process of reinforcing existing learning experiences, and in an attempt to isolate some of the other factors that may act as mediating influences to reinforcing effects. The subjects of this research consisted of' members or the Extension Clubs in Meade County, South Dakota. A second audience of the same approximate size of non-members of Extension Clubs in the same county was used as a control group for purposes of comparison. This problem was chosen for study …
Immediate Knowledge Of Results Via Videotape Replay And Its Effect On The Learning Of Selected Football Skills, Alexander Thomas Lundquist
Immediate Knowledge Of Results Via Videotape Replay And Its Effect On The Learning Of Selected Football Skills, Alexander Thomas Lundquist
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
It was the purpose of this study to determine whether videotape instruction utilizing immediate knowledge of results is superior to two of the traditional methods of coaching football. The traditional methods employed in this study were (1) verbal cues and demonstration and (2) verbal cues, demonstration, and a training film. The following procedure was employed: Thirty-three male volunteer freshman students at South Dakota State University were laced into three groups equated by their motor educability and pretest scores on selected football skills • . The subjects in the three groups participated in a five-week training program, during which they met …
A Study Of The Relationship Between The Amount Of Fountain Solution Used On A Sheet-Fed, Single-Unit Offset Press And The Degree Of Picking Encountered On Coated, Sheet-Fed Offset Paper, Roger Lloyd Williams
A Study Of The Relationship Between The Amount Of Fountain Solution Used On A Sheet-Fed, Single-Unit Offset Press And The Degree Of Picking Encountered On Coated, Sheet-Fed Offset Paper, Roger Lloyd Williams
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
The research conducted for this thesis was essentially a continuation of the previously mentioned experiment. The objectives of this experiment, however, were broader than were those of the first one. It was the writer’s intention to bring together an array of specific facts concerning the problem of picking and combine them with an experiment to determine the effects of the amount of fountain solution used on the press and the propensity of a coated sheet of paper to pick. The greater the depth of inquiry into the problem of picking, the greater the cognizance of its enormity and nebulous nature. …
Information And Materials For Expanding Adult Homemaking Education In South Dakota, Ramona Hill Warwick
Information And Materials For Expanding Adult Homemaking Education In South Dakota, Ramona Hill Warwick
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
The writer was concerned with the expressed needs of homemakers in Castlewood for help in solving some of the problems of family living today. It was brought out in the 1963 South Dakota survey by Westby that women of all education levels and age groups were interested in adult homemaking classes. As an instructor of adult homemaking classes at Castlewood High School, the writer became aware of the needs of classroom home economics teachers in planning and conducting adult classes in addition to a full work load. After interviews with home economics teachers having similar experiences, the author wrote to …
Program Instruction In Use Of Lithographic Camera, Clayton Ransom Kinney
Program Instruction In Use Of Lithographic Camera, Clayton Ransom Kinney
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
Programmed learning is probably as old as mankind. In theory the essentials of this method consist of three major interdependent factors; 1) immediate feedback or knowledge to the learner of the adequacy of the responses, 2) the presenting of material in small enough units to allow rapid assimilation and reinforcement, and 3) the arrangement of such units in a sequence which continues to build upon and reinforce the prior learning. It would be difficult to believe that some of the more apt to teach of any generation would not have capitalized upon such a program in presenting to an apprentice …
Mathematical Model Of A Spherical Shell Heat Exchanger With Exponential Internal Heat Generation, John Lin Tsou
Mathematical Model Of A Spherical Shell Heat Exchanger With Exponential Internal Heat Generation, John Lin Tsou
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
It has been recognized that many convection heat transfer problems involve internal heat generation. Nuclear fuel elements, chemically reactive liquids and transparent shell solar energy collectors are a few examples. Theoretically, this type of problem has not been studied extensively. Lumsdaine solved the internal heat generation problem with constant temperature boundary conditions in spherical coordinates. The purpose of this thesis is to follow Lumsdaine's analysis to study those problems where internal heat generation is a function of radius. The governing partial differential equation in spherical coordinates is of the second order, non-homogeneous and has variable coefficients. The non-homogeneity arises from …

A Survey To Determine The Extent Of Retraining In The Printing Industry, Robert A. Timmons
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
No longer is the printing industry tied to the traditional concept of placing ink on paper; it is expanding to include electronic means for transmitting graphic information Sophisticated electronic systems and tape operations are ginning to replace older systems Computers are becoming increasingly significant in the areas of typesetting, presswork and estimating. The introduction of electronics in the graphic arts has brought about new systems such as facsimile transmission of finish pages of copy from city to city. Devices such as electronic etching and color separating equipment and electronic controls for highly mechanized bindery equipment are now being used. Electronic …

Content Of Two Upper Midwest Farm Magazines As Related To Major Types Of Farming In South Dakota, Frank J. Shideler
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
The objectives of this study are to determine (1) differences in subject matter in two Midwestern farm magazines, and (2) how these magazines conformed to reader needs, based on the assumption that these needs are a reflection of the traditional types of agriculture in the area served by the publications. The magazines used in this study are: The Dakota Farmer, Aberdeen, South Dakota, and The Farmer., St. Paul, Minnesota. Comparisons, when draw, are designed to indicate a point rather than to judge or intimate that one of the magazines is better than the other. To further emphasize this point of …
