A Cytogenetic And Agronomic Study Of Induced Translocation Lines Of Common Wheat (Triticum Aestivum L. Em. Thell) Immune From Wheat Streak Mosaic Virus, Rama S. Kota
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
Wheat streak mosaic is a serious virus disease that threatens the production of winter wheat in. some areas of the United States. It is caused by a virus transmitted by a wheat-curl mite, Aceria tulipae Keifer. Immunity from the virus has not been found in Triticum species but tolerance to some strains of the virus has been reported. An obvious way to improve this important crop plant is to exploit the variability of its relatives. A good source of immunity found in Agropyron intermedium Beau (2n = 70) has been used in crosses with common wheat, Triticum aestivum L. em, …
The Effect Of Ferric-Nitrilotriacetic Acid On Selected Hemogram Parameters Of Gestating And Lactating Swine And Their Offspring, Thomas Allen Heirigs
The Effect Of Ferric-Nitrilotriacetic Acid On Selected Hemogram Parameters Of Gestating And Lactating Swine And Their Offspring, Thomas Allen Heirigs
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
Ever since man has moved to confinement farrowing of swine, the problem of iron-deficiency in baby pigs has increased. The problem can be partially alleviated by various treatments which can be employed by the swine producer. However, many of these treatments stress to the young piglet and involve much time and labor, which may not be available during parturition. A beneficial tool to the porcine producer would be the elimination of both the stress placed on the neonatal pig and of the extra labor providing a hematinic which would be administered prepartum to the dam. The hematinic employed must be …

Users were asked …
Applications Of X-Ray Single Crystal Diffraction To Structure Determination, Bih- Lian Huang
Applications Of X-Ray Single Crystal Diffraction To Structure Determination, Bih- Lian Huang
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
X-ray diffraction methods frequently give unequivocal answers about structure in the solid state. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction methods have been used for structure determination since the 1930’s. The primary aim of a crystal structure analysis by X-ray diffraction is to obtain a detailed picture of the contents of the crystal at the atomic level. Once this information is available, and the positions of the individual atoms are known precisely, one can calculate interatomic distances, bond angles, and other features of the molecular geometry that are of interest, such as the planarity of a particular group of atoms, the angles between planes, …

Status attainment, as commonly indicated by levels of educational and occupational achievement, is a complicated process. A variety of variables have been found to be quite influential in the determination of one's eventual position in the social hierarchy of American society. Research done jointly by William H. Sewell and Robert M. Hauser (1972, 1975) regarding the status attainment process has resulted in a Wisconsin model of Adolescent Achievement in which the authors have identified a number of experiences that have significant import for young people's post-high school educational and occupational attainments. The Sewell and Hauser model links socioeconomic origins and …
