The purpose of this study was to compare the levels of computer use by school principals in administering their schools. Comparisons were made of the different techniques being employed by school principals as they manage the vast amounts of data that are present in today's educational process. A comprehensive collection of computer applications was identified and school principals were surveyed regarding their use of these applications. A random sample was selected from a population of 1,800 school principals in the state of Tennessee. This study examined the interactions--(1) research grants and contracts, (2) faculty consultation, (3) employee training, (4) student internships and co-ops, (5) universities sharing firm facilities, and (6) firms sharing university facilities--between higher education and high-tech industries in East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia using multiple regression modeling. The purpose of the study was the development of a vision of what the future could be and the strategies to successfully overcome the threats and enrich the opportunities that exist between higher education and high-tech industries. This thesis addresses the doctrine of revelation as it relates to the field of African Christian theology. Given the need for contextual theologies, it examines both general and special revelation as these doctrines have been understood and applied by a variety of African theologians. Specific areas of application include the use of the Bible and the attitude toward African traditional religions.

Factors Limiting Overwinter Survival Of Young-Of-The-Year Largemouth Bass In South Dakota, Todd D. Kolander

Studies were conducted to examine the effects of total length (TL), prey abundance, and water temperature on approximate body composition, condition index, and overwinter survival of young-of-the-year (YOY) largemouth bass Micropterus salmoides in South Dakota. Growth and condition of YOY largemouth bass stocks from South Dakota and Wisconsin were also compared. Study areas included two South Dakota University impoundments (0.8 hectare each), a gravel pit (7. 3 hectare), and laboratory aquaria. Hatchery reared YOY largemouth bass were graded into short (19-45 mm TL) and long (58-135 mm TL) length groups. Overwinter mortality was 78% and 85% in the two impoundments, …

Population Status And Characteristics Of Macrhybopsis Gelida, Platygobio Gracilis And Rhinichthys Cataractae In The Missouri River Basin, Selena J. Werdon

Few sturgeon chub (Macrhybopsis gelida: Cyprinidae) have been collected in the last decade, therefore their status, habitat selection and morphology were investigated at 172 previous collection sites. Data on two ecologically similar species, Platygobio gracilis and Rhinichthys cataractae, were also collected. Macrhvbopsis gelida were collected at 28 sites on the Powder River (n = 158) in Wyoming and Montana, and at one site on the Yellowstone River (n = 1) in Montana. Age-I, Age-II and Age-III M. gelida were collected. Specimens were 37 to 95 mm in total length. Macrhvbopsis gelida were ripe in mid-June, at water temperatures of 18.3-22. …
