He stated, "I don't know how to begin this letter in order to show my appreciation and love toward you for the deep interest that you have taken in my behalf. It proves to me that there is some good left in people..." Ehrlich also recounts how Waldauer's father, presumably an attorney, assisted him in the past during a case, but that Waldauer was too young at the time to remember.
