While healthcare is intended to promote and restore optimal health and quality of life, it has been realized that patients often experience unintended harm while consuming healthcare services. In a project conducted in a 12-bed intensive care unit, nurses completed a pre-survey to identify a baseline understanding of patient safety principles. They then completed online educational modules designed to teach patient safety principles including patient and family centered healthcare, systems safety, and culture of safety. Following the educational intervention, a postsurvey to assess for increased understanding was administered. Forty-seven nurses completed the presurvey and education showing improved understanding of patient …

The purpose of this bounded multi-site study was to understand how the technological practices of principals in small K–12 rural schools in western Canada foster the technological literacy of teachers. Problematic drinking is a public health concern on college campuses. College students who do not have their risky drinking behaviors addressed are at greater risk for developing Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD). Certified nursing assistants (CNA) are a critical part of the direct care provided in skilled nursing facilities (SNF). Turnover among CNAs results in patient care issues and increased costs to providers. Despite years of research into why CNAs leave their jobs, the turnover in this occupation continues to be the highest among direct caregivers in SNFs. This quantitative, correlational design seeks to determine if students’ academic growth during the sixth-grade transition can be predicted by school climate and school climate dimensions. The results of the study will allow leaders to provide targeted support in the areas of school climate that have the greatest impact. The study consists of 150 middle schools in the state of Georgia. The Georgia Student Health Survey was used to determine sixth-grade student perceptions of the school's climate. This study examined religious faith and sense of meaning as moderators in the relationship between acculturative stress, loneliness, and depressive symptoms in international students (IS). This study explores the unique challenges faced by IS when attending higher education institutions in the United States that derive from acculturative stress and contribute to feelings of loneliness and depressive symptoms. A quantitative research design using linear multiple regression models was employed to investigate the interplay between the variables. The responses of 80 participants were analyzed. In the Middle East, one of the biggest challenges facing supply chain business leaders was the expatriate assignment failures, an average turnover rate of 12%, with the main reason an inability to cope with lifestyle adjustments due to cultural and family pressures. The purpose of this applied study was to solve the problem of low student attendance for two elementary schools in southwest Mississippi by reviewing interventions designed to improve average daily attendance among elementary students. This study sought to review previous interventions and determine which initiatives worked to improve student attendance using qualitative and quantitative methods. This study investigated and analyzed leadership’s impact on the frontline, blue-collar workers in manufacturing industries in the Southeastern United States that were non-union companies. This study is a qualitative, multiple case study that investigated leadership practices at three different manufacturing facilities. The specific effects of leadership that this study focused on was how leaders affected employee outcomes such as turnover, satisfaction, and motivation. The results of this study identified a need for leadership training in blue-collar, manufacturing industries as well as the need to develop stronger leader-follower relations in order to improve employee turnover, satisfaction, and motivation within manufacturing industries.

There is limited available research to date that has investigated the factors influencing the completion of the High School Equivalency Program (HEP) by Black female inmates. A high school education is an important subject explored by researchers when studying females in prison. This predictive correlational study used archival data to determine if age, length of sentence, type of crime, and family status influenced Black female inmates’ HEP completion rates. A logistic regression analysis was used to examine 100 Black female inmates in state prison. The purpose of this qualitative, multiple-case study was to understand the pedagogy and attitudes of teachers when faced with the presence of school-based mental health professionals in the classrooms in two schools in southwestern Virginia.
