The heuristic study explored the lived experiences of military spouses accompanying service members on remote assignments overseas. Relatively little was understood about geographically remote assignments from U.S. military installations overseas. Numerous studies have investigated military spouses’ experience transitioning from military to civilian life, geographically remote location challenges within the United States, and culture shock related to overseas military installations, independently. To date, research on military spouses transitioning to nonmilitary communities in remote assignments overseas with their active duty service members is lacking. The qualitative heuristic phenomenological design implemented semi-structured open-ended interviews, a focus group, and reflective questionnaires for data collection. …

The purpose of this phenomenological hermeneutic study was to discover the learning experience of augmented reality or virtual reality and extended reality technology for current and former paramedic academic students with learning disabilities in a regional Mid-Atlantic paramedic program located in the rural, mountainous Appalachian region. The purpose of this qualitative study was to examine how effective a financial coaching program is for helping participants improve their overall financial well-being through short-term incremental steps moving toward obtaining long-term financial goals. Financial coaching is built on a client- and solution-focused approach, where participants set the pace and goals of the process, with a coach providing encouragement and motivation throughout this journey. The purpose of this grounded theory study was to develop an understanding of the perceptions held by community outreach workers about access to care issues for the H-2A population and create a process for community collaboration, and the use of telehealth, to improve access to care for H-2A workers on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. This study explores whether and to what extent the self-concept of Pastor’s Kids (PKs) is affected by their image of God. The effect of God's image is mediated by stress. Previous research has shown that the pressures of living up to expectations have resulted in mental health disorders and emotional disturbances among PKs that manifest as depression and anxiety. Researchers have found that depression and anxiety often result from stress and stressors experienced by PKs, with types of stress that include harm, threat, and challenge. The theory guiding this study was Lazarus and Folkman’s transactional model of stress as it was developed to examine stress and coping factors in occupational environments, including educational settings. Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) is a traumatic brain injury (TBI) caused by repetitive jostling of the brain inside the skull. The disease was first discovered in boxers in the 1920s. Further accounts surfaced in combat soldiers, firefighters, and soccer players. However, once Dr. Bennett Omalu found the infliction in NFL Hall of Famer Mike Webster in 2002, CTE hit center field in the media and became synonymous with football and concussions. Compassion fatigue and secondary traumatization are related phenomenon that contribute to the emotional and mental exhaustion of people in caring professions and roles. Of care, feminist ethicist Gilligan says that care is a reciprocal act that can repair the damage of past wrongs yet benefit both parties involved. This study examined the testimonies of eight foster mothers in the United States Midwest regarding their experiences with compassion fatigue and secondary traumatization and their manifestations of quality care, as the literature lacks thorough descriptions of both. The Spiritual And Psychological Impact Of Belief: Self-Efficacy And Intrinsic Spirituality In The Modern Workplace, Anita D. Powell

This quantitative, correlational study examined the predictive relationship between employees' general self-efficacy and intrinsic spirituality and their work attitudes and work performance. Data was collected via a 37-item online survey administered through LinkedIn, targeting professionals across industries. A total of 132 participants responded, with 127 meeting eligibility criteria for analysis. Sequential multiple regression analyses revealed significant positive relationships between both predictor variables and the criterion variables. General self-efficacy emerged as the stronger predictor, explaining 29.7% and 27.3% of the variance in work attitudes and performance, respectively. Intrinsic spirituality, while less influential, contributed 2.5% and 3.1% to the variance in these …

This interpretive phenomenological study explored the lived experience of Christians with a secure God attachment following traumatic events, examining the relationship between faith, resilience, and posttraumatic growth. Through in-depth interviews, this study examined how individuals made sense of their experiences through a Christian faith lens, focusing on the impact of God attachment on their internal working models (IWMs) of self and others. This quantitative correlational study examined the extent to which secondary traumatic stress and toxic leadership were experienced and these variables’ relationships with well-being among non-uniformed federal employees in law enforcement organizations. The research aimed to identify coping strategies beneficial to employee well-being. A sample of 73 federal employees from a U.S. government law enforcement organization was recruited using purposive sampling, excluding uniformed personnel. Measurement instruments included the Secondary Traumatic Stress Scale, Toxic Leadership Scale, Brief COPE, and World Health Organization 5-Item Well-being Index. The current study aimed to demonstrate the effectiveness of mindfulness and mindful parenting in reducing the stress and anxiety levels of parents with children who have autism. This study utilized pre- and post-surveys to assess parents' stress and anxiety levels before and after participating in the mindfulness component of the Dialectical Behavior Therapy course. These levels were compared to those of parents involved in an Applied Behavior Analysis program, where a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) conducted parent training at least once a month.

The extant literature on organizational justice (OJ) involves employee perceptions of fairness and justice in workplace decisions, outcomes, procedures, and interpersonal treatment. This research examined the dark side of these justice dimensions, including injustice acts of discrimination, bias, and unfair treatment. Workplace injustice is not an uncommon occurrence; however, a different reality emerges as employees are rationalizing their experiences. In this context rationalization involves individuals creating plausible explanations to justify the injustice, making it more acceptable and the psychological processes individuals employ through rationalizing. The purpose of this quantitative, causal-comparative study was to determine the differences between a college student’s academic success based on campus involvement (low, medium, or high) and a student's socioeconomic status (low, medium, or high). This study employed quantitative causal-comparative methods to explore the impact of student characteristics on college transition and academic success. A successful high school-to-college transition was pivotal for overall achievement and degree pursuit. Focusing on 253 college students, the study examined links between socioeconomic background, on-campus involvement, and academic achievement. This quantitative causal-comparative study examines the influence of parental satisfaction on school choice, parental involvement, and socioeconomic status in suburban, rural, and urban elementary schools. The Parent Involvement Satisfaction Survey (PISS) and the Parenting Satisfaction Scale (PSS) were administered to a purposive sample of parents (N = 126) from Texas public elementary schools through online surveys. This experimental quantitative research, a randomized controlled trial, evaluated combined efficacy of auditory alpha-theta brainwave entrainment (BWE) and hypnotherapy in chronic pain management versus each modality alone. Chronic pain is a serious clinical challenge that may benefit from novel, nonpharmacological interventions. The purpose of this qualitative multiple-case study was to explore middle school teachers’ perceptions of how homework influenced academic achievement and student learning in Southern Maryland. The theory guiding this study was Bandura’s theory of social knowledge. The purpose of this qualitative exploratory single case study is to explore the undergraduate nursing students' perceptions of faculty mentorship for student success in persevering toward program completion. The theory guiding this study is the Roy Adaptation Model (RAM) by Callista Roy, as it relates to nursing students' adaptation to the challenges in their environment through faculty mentorship.
