This study investigates the impact of virtual reality (VR) on high school science students' motivation, engagement, performance, and interest in STEM disciplines. Building on Huang et al. (2021), this research replicates and extends their findings, focusing on how different levels of VR immersion influence learning outcomes. The study aligns with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and the Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE). This case study, using phenomenography within science disciplines, examines how educators' experiences with misconceptions affect teaching methods in high school physics, chemistry, and biology. Based on constructivist and interpretive theories it highlights that personal experiences shape learning and involve continuously reconstructing knowledge. The shared misconceptions of 13 educators across science disciplines reveal how those experiences influenced both their content knowledge and instructional practices. The findings indicate that educators who openly acknowledge and learn from their past experiences with misconceptions are better equipped to recognize and address gaps in understanding, an asset to furthering student learning. This study examined the challenges stepparents face in schooling their high-school aged children. An analysis of how stepfamily formation can impact this process was also investigated. The sample included 13 families composed of one biological and one non-biological parent with at least one child between the ages of 14 and 18 who was currently attending high school. Aerococcus urinae is an uncommon inhabitant of the human urogenital tract. The Gram-positive bacterium has been implicated in a wide range of urinary tract diseases that, if left untreated or undiagnosed, can progress to severe disease such as infective endocarditis. Comparative analysis of 115 A. urinae isolates from infection episodes of urinary tract infection, bacteremia, infective endocarditis, urgency urinary incontinence, stress urinary incontinence, interstitial cystitis / painful bladder syndrome, and asymptomatic individuals reveal substantial diversity with respect to predicted virulence factors, metabolism, and observed biofilm behavior. The toxic dialdehyde glyoxal is found in all domains of life and results as a by-product from a variety of metabolic activities such as DNA oxidation, lipid peroxidation, and autoxidation of sugars such as glucose. If allowed to accumulate, the reactive aldehyde groups of glyoxal have the ability to react with a plethora of molecules including, DNA, lipids, and protein side chains. Most notably, glyoxal can react with arginine, lysine, and cysteine residues, forming irreversible covalent modifications known as advanced glycation end products (AGEs). The focal participants were educators who have worked 10 or more years in the profession and in a school building. The study surveyed 20 educators using open-ended questions to understand their experiences with trauma, strategies for coping, and the effects on their personal and professional lives. The primary question my dissertation aims to answer is: how might eudaimonic virtue ethics be reimagined to respond to contemporary criticisms from disability scholars, feminists, and empirical psychology? To answer this, I introduce the Eudaimonic View of Virtue, or EV, and propose a Mengzian adaptation of the EV (EV-M) in response to these criticisms. Seriously ill patients often experience discordant care. Delivering high-quality healthcare requires effective communication to support goal-concordant care.

Pancreatic cancer has a 5-year survival rate of 12% with a high symptom burden. Pancreatic cancer patients often have unmet needs that lead to increased psychological, spiritual, social, and physical needs. Early integration of palliative care can provide high-quality communication and goal-concordant care. A retrospective analysis of MDACC's pancreatic patients found that 34% were referred to palliative care.

Preexisting research on intergenerational trauma transmission primarily addresses biological and behavioral routes of transmission, leaving little room for systemic influences. This research reviews preexisting biological and behavioral contributors and explores systemic contributors to intergenerational trauma transmission in American families as it relates to post-traumatic growth, parental centrality distress, and parenting styles. It was that post-traumatic growth and parental centrality of distress (comprised of ACES, centrality of events, and access to community resources) and PTG predict parenting styles.
