Measure Real-Time Battery Swelling With Credit And Intervention At Optimized Time, Hp Inc
Measure Real-Time Battery Swelling With Credit And Intervention At Optimized Time, Hp Inc
Defensive Publications Series
Battery cell swelling after months usage is a widespread issue in notebook. Various cell‐swell studies point to
cell’s high SoC (state of charge) and temperature as two major contributed factors. At high SoC and
temperature, battery cell swells more and degrade at much faster speed, while significantly slower rate at
low SoC level and temperature.
Common mitigation involves mandatory SoC step down after certain period elapse. For example, capping
battery SOC at 80% (not 100%) after 9 months notebook usage. Some smarter policies try to learn and
classify its users into different categories: AC user, mobile user, etc. Then apply …

Graph-Based Feature-Serving For Privacy-Aware Machine Learning, Anonymous
Graph-Based Feature-Serving For Privacy-Aware Machine Learning, Anonymous
Defensive Publications Series
This disclosure describes graph-based privacy-aware platforms for serving features to machine learning models, optimized to meet constraints of privacy, model quality, multi-granularity, incremental update, overlapping features, scale, etc. Privacy is preserved by grouping features into a collection, subject to lower-bound constraints, such that features corresponding to individual users are rendered unrecoverable. Such feature aggregation does not prevent generation of personalized recommendations, as model quality is maintained by aggregating similar, rather than arbitrary features, subject to upper-bound constraints. Upper and lower bounds can vary to account for differing privacy sensitivities and feature importance with respect to a given model (multi-granularity). Features …

Currently, in most online meeting and collaboration systems, platforms, applications, etc. (which, for convenience, may be referred to herein as a collaboration environment) sharing is typically limited to an application or a whole desktop. The next level of evolution for sharing is for a presenter to be able to intelligently identify contextually-relevant subsections of an application, screen, environment, etc. and share that selection with other attendees. Techniques are presented herein that support an intelligent and context-aware sharing model that take the known feature of selective sharing to that next level. Aspects of the presented techniques support an advanced capability to …
Document Enhancement Of Misaligned Content By Learning A Common Latent Space Between Document Photographs And Reference Images, Hp Inc
Defensive Publications Series
In this work, we propose a machine learning model for document enhancement that is
invariant to small shifts between pixels in pairs of images. This is achieved by mapping the input
image (i.e., the low‐quality raw image to be enhanced) to the same latent space (or feature space)
learned from the corresponding high‐quality image (i.e., the enhanced ground‐truth version).
Furthermore, our algorithm can enhance photographed documents by mapping those
photographs to the same latent space learned from the corresponding expected enhancements.
The feature mapping between the photograph and the reference image avoids the necessity of
performing an image alignment step …

User Diagnostic For Pip Offset Wrong Calibration Situations, Hp Inc
User Diagnostic For Pip Offset Wrong Calibration Situations, Hp Inc
Defensive Publications Series
Some printers use an ink pressure sensor (PIP), that compares the ink pressure to the air
pressure of the Air Pressure System (APS), to control the Ink Delivery System, such as detecting
when the Intermediate Tank is full during a refilling process and stopping the ink pump.
Although the PIP sensor is calibrated (Gain and Offset) before its installation into the printer,
the Offset suffers a drift during the normal usage of the printer. The recalibration of the Offset
is done by comparing the PIP signal with the theoretical ink pressure at a well‐known point.

Drop Detector "Y Axis" Position Calibration For Optimal Line Sensor Measurement, Hp Inc
Drop Detector "Y Axis" Position Calibration For Optimal Line Sensor Measurement, Hp Inc
Defensive Publications Series
This invention presents a new calibration to avoid reading incorrect values from the
line sensor. This sensor is usually calibrated relatively to a dark and light reference
values so, if not executed in valid positions it will operate in a wrong luminosity range.
The darkest position is placed over the hole of the optical detector. However, this
position can be compromised either because of mechanical tolerances or because of
other external circumstances like ink leakages. This problem is avoided if the position
is first calibrated searching for the darkest position ensuring a valid reference value.

Techniques To Optimize Software-Defined Access Layer 2 Broadcast, Unknown-Unicast And Multicast (Bum) Use-Cases With Bit Index Explicit Replication (Bier), Denis Neogi
Defensive Publications Series
Current implementations involving Broadcast, Unknown-Unicast & Multicast (BUM) traffic in a Software-Defined Access (SDA) fabric typically rely on a traditional multicast model in which each Fabric-Edge device joins a shared Internet Protocol (IP) multicast-group having a pre-defined Multicast Rendezvous Point (RP) node or nodes— effectively establishing one large broadcast domain for all Layer 2 (L2) instances in the fabric. Techniques presented herein provide for the ability to establish a model for assigning shared groups of Virtual Extensible Local Area Network (VxLAN) Virtual Network Instances (VNIs) logically and programmatically on a Fabric-Edge device to a dedicated Bit Index Explicit Replication (BIER) …
