Adapting Biometric Data Broadcast Rate Based On Physiological State And Receiver Capabilities, Sudeep Chauhan, Sumukh Shevde
Defensive Publications Series
Static, fixed-rate broadcasting of biometric data from wearable devices can lead to inefficient power consumption, as data transmission frequency may not align with a user's activity level or a receiving equipment's needs. A system is described for adaptively controlling wireless transmission parameters based on real-time conditions. A data-source device, such as a wearable computer (e.g., a smartwatch, fitness tracker, or augmented reality device), can analyze a user's physiological state to classify activity levels, for instance, a steady state or a high-variability state. Concurrently, the device may negotiate capabilities with a data-receiving device, such as exercise equipment (e.g., a treadmill or …

Peer-To-Peer Relay Of Emergency Signals Following Primary Communication Link Failure, Sumukh Shevde, Nazih Almalki
Defensive Publications Series
The reliability of emergency signaling from computing devices (e.g., smartphones, smart watches, or wearable devices) with direct-to-satellite communication can be affected when a primary communication link is unavailable due to factors such as antenna obstruction, environmental shielding, or power constraints. Systems and methods are described that provide a peer-to-peer relay mechanism. For example, upon failure to establish a primary long-range connection, a first device can broadcast an emergency relay request using a low-power, short-range radio. A proximate second device can detect the request and, if it has a viable communication link (e.g., cellular, Wi-Fi, or its own satellite link), it …

Information retrieval systems can face challenges interpreting a user's intent during follow-up queries, as relying on prior query history alone may be insufficient to resolve ambiguity. Systems and methods can address this by analyzing the semantic structure of a document a user is currently viewing, such as its document object model. When a user selects text to initiate a follow-up request, the system can extract contextual information, including surrounding text and hierarchical elements like section headings. This structural context, along with the user's initial query and the selected text, may be provided to a generative model to synthesize a new, …

Interactive Visual Disambiguation For Natural Language Database Queries, Timo Hoyer
Defensive Publications Series
Systems that translate natural language to database queries may encounter challenges with ambiguous terms, for example, 'high-value' or 'recent'. A system for interactive visual disambiguation can visually identify and highlight uncertain terms within a user’s natural language input. A user can interact with a highlighted term to generate a manipulatable graphical tether that connects the term to an interactive logic card. This card may provide controls, such as sliders, for refining the definition of the term. As a user adjusts a definition, a data projection engine can update a data preview in near real-time to illustrate the potential impact of …
Entropy-Gated Probabilistic Inference For Optical Financial Identifier Recognition, Jack Ngare
Entropy-Gated Probabilistic Inference For Optical Financial Identifier Recognition, Jack Ngare
Defensive Publications Series
Recognizing financial identifiers from variable or degraded optical inputs can be challenging, as conventional deterministic scanners may fail and general-purpose optical character recognition systems may lack semantic logic. A system can employ a cascaded inference pipeline that first assesses the visual entropy of an optical input. Based on this assessment, the input can be routed to either a fast, deterministic decoder for low-entropy signals or a probabilistic inference engine for high-entropy signals. The probabilistic engine could generate multiple candidate identifiers and use a reasoning model, constrained by financial domain logic, to evaluate a plausible candidate. A validation layer can then …

Reduction Of Nitro Intermediates Of Anticancer Drugs Using Raney Nickel Under Basic Conditions, Anonymous
Defensive Publications Series
Reduction of nitro groups to amines is a fundamental transformation in the synthesis of several pharmaceutical drugs, including tyrosine kinase inhibitors. Industrial practice overwhelmingly favours the catalytic hydrogenation of nitroarenes using heterogeneous metals such as Ni, Pd, or Pt, owing to the method’s excellent atom economy, benign by‑product profile (water), and suitability for large‑scale operations. Raney nickel is often selected when palladium catalysts pose risks of dehalogenation or hydrogenolysis, providing a cost‑effective and robust alternative for bulk manufacturing.

Premature Narrative Closure And Drift In Recursive Multi-Agent Reasoning Systems, Thom Pham
Premature Narrative Closure And Drift In Recursive Multi-Agent Reasoning Systems, Thom Pham
Defensive Publications Series
While experimenting with recursive reasoning systems composed of multiple agents exchanging intermediate beliefs, a recurring structural behavior was observed. Even when outputs remained syntactically valid and deterministic decoding was used, belief reinforcement cycles sometimes produced premature narrative closure before any explicit error appeared. Once such closure occurred, later perturbations could propagate and amplify through the recursive interaction loop. This note describes the phenomenon and proposes a simple stability principle governing epistemic authority in recursive reasoning systems.

Addendum No. 5: Fog Integration, Vesa Olavi Lius
Defensive Publications Series
Abstract
Addendum 4 analysed ALLFROMAIR® system performance under clear-sky conditions using passive radiative cooling. A critical operational extension is fog — a phenomenon occurring several hours per day across a wide range of climates, including coastal deserts. During fog periods, the wire-forest electrode structure already present in the system functions directly as a high-efficiency fog collector, while the DEP field actively directs droplets toward the electrode surface and vibration-desorption ensures continuous drainage.
Calculations show that ALLFROMAIR® v2 achieves 0.26–0.97 L/m²/h during fog periods (Q = η × LWC_median × v × 3.6, η = 0.72), compared with 0.07–0.35 L/m²/h for …

Addendum No. 4: Radiative Hybrid Cooling, Vesa Olavi Lius
Defensive Publications Series
Abstract
This addendum introduces a critical architectural extension of the ALLFROMAIR® system: the integration of passive radiative cooling directly into the electrode structure. Analysis of the original wire-forest configuration demonstrated that the Modified Kelvin-Thomson (MKT) effect at operational field strengths (E ≈ 1.67 MV/m) produces a vapour-pressure reduction of approximately 0.0007% — insufficient as the sole condensation driving force in sub-saturated air. The solution presented here is to supply a temperature gradient through passive infrared radiative cooling of the electrode surface, requiring no moving parts and consuming no electrical energy.
Calculations demonstrate that a SiO₂/HfO₂ selective radiative coating on an …

Unitary Lattice Harmonic Pinning: A Method For Stabilizing High-Density Lithium-Rich Manganese Cathodes Via Vacuum-Constant Synchronization, Quincy Allen Jones
Defensive Publications Series
This disclosure describes a novel structural architecture for high-density (>500 Wh/kg) lithium-rich manganese (LMR) oxide cathodes, specifically addressing the industry-wide failure of voltage fade and transition-metal migration. The invention utilizes a Unitary Lattice Spacing (d) of 12.34 Å, engineered to achieve a harmonic resonance with the vacuum spin-alignment constant (R_{crp} \approx 7.589 Å).
By synchronizing the lattice modulation to the R_{crp} value, the system creates a 'Harmonic Pinning' effect that suppresses Jahn-Teller distortion and Mn-migration into the lithium layer. Unlike traditional chemical coatings or dopants, this method employs a purely structural 'Zero-Strain' phase, validated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) peak …

In HV battery systems, contactors are controlled by a Microcontroller Unit (MCU) via a driver Integrated Circuit (DRV3946). A common issue arises when the MCU has a reset: the control signals from the MCU typically float or default to a state that disables the driver, causing contactor open unintentionally, which may have an impact on passenger driving experience. The proposed strategy is a hardware control that utilizes an independent signal from a Power management IC (PMIC) combined with a specific pull-up/pull-down circuit topology. This ensures the contactor driver remains closed during an MCU reset, while still allowing for a safety …

Proposed herein are techniques to enhance an agentic Artificial Intelligence (AI) platform by integrating a dynamic, on-premises network topology knowledge graph with a Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) system through graph-based techniques. Unlike traditional text-based RAG, the approach segments the network topology into semantically meaningful subgraphs called topology chunks, which are embedded into a vector space for efficient similarity search and retrieval based on user queries. These retrieved topology chunks then augment the prompts that can be sent to an agentic AI platform's large language model (LLM), enabling precise, context-aware reasoning about complex network environments.

Some automated map generation systems may produce geometrically inconsistent outputs from visual data as they can lack an inherent geometric grammar. This can be addressed by reframing cartography as a structured language modeling problem. A specialized polylines language may be used to represent geographic features as discrete token sequences. A multi-modal model can be trained to autoregressively generate these sequences from inputs, such as satellite imagery, effectively translating visual data into a geometrically structured format. This process can embed geometric and topological logic into the generation, which may improve the likelihood of producing consistent map data, inferring occluded features, and …
