Method And System For Calculating Mean Time Between Failures (Mtbf) In Edge-Locked Asynchronous And Fully Asynchronous Clock Crossings, N/A
Defensive Publications Series
The technology described in this paper relates to a technique for calculating mean time between failure (MTBF) for a system-on-chip (SoC) based on clock topologies of synchronizers. When a source clock and a destination clock are derived from independent sources, such as separate crystals, the source and destination clocks are truly asynchronous with each other, and their phase relationship drifts randomly over time. In contrast, when the source and destination clocks are labeled as being asynchronous but share a common root source, e.g., a phase-locked loop (PLL) or a clock divider that creates a clock signal from an input clock …

Multi-Frequency Temporal Sampling For Training Video Object Counting Models, Ivor Rendulic, Filip Pavetić
Defensive Publications Series
Machine learning models may face challenges in counting distinct objects in videos, particularly when presented with variations in frame rates or object speeds. Disclosed systems and techniques can address these challenges with a data augmentation methodology for generating training data. For example, an approach can involve creating multiple training examples from a single source video by sampling its frames at various temporal frequencies. A dynamic labeling protocol may be used to assign an object count label to a new sequence that reflects the number of objects discernible in that specific, potentially sparser, sequence. Training a model on these varied representations …

Automated Security Policy Validation From Natural Language Documentation Using Large Language Models, Leonid Kuligin, Aleksandr Ostapenko
Defensive Publications Series
Determining security permissions from natural language documentation, for example, runbooks, can be a time-consuming and error-prone process that may lead to runtime failures or security vulnerabilities. A system can use large language models (LLMs) to analyze documentation, infer a candidate permission policy, and generate a corresponding test script. The script can then be executed in a sandboxed environment using the candidate policy. An iterative refinement loop may diagnose permission-related failures and use an LLM to propose policy modifications to address those failures. This automated process can assist in generating a functional permission policy derived from operational instructions, which may reduce …

Proactive Disruption Of Adversarial Learning Via Systematic Feedback Loop Corruption, Google Case Managers Picozzi, Dishant Mathur
Defensive Publications Series
Modern fraud prevention is often limited by a reactive approach that inadvertently provides training data to adversaries, allowing them to refine tactics whenever a detection signal or account block occurs. To address this feedback loop, a framework is disclosed for the proactive disruption of fraudulent operations by systematically corrupting internal adversarial learning processes. The method involves mapping entry vectors, identifying behavioral heuristics used by operators, and injecting inconsistent success signals, such as decoy enthusiasm and variable response compliance, into the interaction flow. Additionally, operational workflows are desynchronized to increase coordination friction and propagate stress across the scam network. By rendering …

Phonetic Pre-Normalization For Cross-Store Product Title Resolution, Aaron Burton
Defensive Publications Series
A method for resolving misspelled and phonetically variant product titles in ecommerce by applying phonetic encoding as a pre-normalization step before downstream product identity resolution. The system converts product title tokens into phonetic representations using Double Metaphone encoding, matches phonetic codes against a known-good product vocabulary, and substitutes corrected tokens before the title enters any downstream normalization or matching pipeline. This enables cross-store product resolution to handle common misspellings such as brand name variants without requiring retraining or vocabulary expansion in the downstream system.

Systems And Methods For Detecting Trajectory Closure And Structural Irreversibility In Ai Systems, Thom Pham
Defensive Publications Series
This disclosure describes systems and methods for characterizing when an error in an artificial intelligence trajectory remains correctable and when it becomes structurally irreversible. The disclosure introduces a temporal framework centered on closure, defined as the transition from revisable to non-revisable trajectory dynamics under active constraints. Two error regimes are distinguished: localized error, in which a deviation remains attached to an identifiable and correctable claim or state, and distributed error, in which violations are absorbed into the trajectory as a whole. The disclosure further introduces Aggregation-Induced Error (AIE) as a mechanism by which independent constraints lose separability when compressed into …

Artificial Genuine Intelligence: Why Constraint Matters More Than Values In Recursive Ai Systems, Thom Pham
Artificial Genuine Intelligence: Why Constraint Matters More Than Values In Recursive Ai Systems, Thom Pham
Defensive Publications Series
Large language models are often described as hallucinating when they produce incorrect
or unsupported outputs. That label is useful descriptively, but it conflates several distinct
mechanisms, including local generation error, unsupported fabrication, and
interaction-driven reinforcement of an initially weak claim. This paper isolates the third
case.
We argue that a subset of hallucination-like behavior is better understood as Recursive
Narrative Amplification (RNA): a feedback dynamic in which an already introduced
claim gains authority through recursive reuse before sufficient external constraint has
refreshed or corrected the trajectory.
The paper also introduces aggregation-induced error as a distinct structural failure mode
arising from …

Defensive Publications Series
GCI #271 proposes a solid‑state, vibration‑driven thermal‑diode‑like interposer for high‑density chip‑stacks. It moves beyond passive heat spreading by attempting to bias phonon transport in one direction using chiral‑phonon‑induced orbital‑like currents driven by an acoustic field and thermal bias.
At its core, GCI #271 combines:
-
A high‑thermal‑polymer substrate (Dyneema‑UHMWPE / epoxy‑acrylate, based on Arachne‑23‑style concepts) that serves as the main “phonon highway” within the interposer.
-
A Z‑cut α‑quartz thin film (5–20 µm thick) bonded on top, chosen because chiral‑phonon effects and orbital‑like responses have been observed in similar quartz‑like crystals when driven by thermal, optical, or acoustic excitation.

Decoupling Stylistic And Factual Context In Llms To Mitigate Conversational Tone Inertia, Viraj Doshi
Defensive Publications Series
Large language models (LLMs) engaged in extended dialogues may exhibit "tone inertia," where a model's style can become fixed and may not adapt when a conversational topic shifts, potentially leading to contextually inappropriate responses. A system can manage this behavior by algorithmically decoupling conversational context into components, such as a factual context for semantic knowledge and a stylistic context for tone and stylistic profile. A domain shift detection module can identify shifts in the conversation based on mathematical/vector detection, which may trigger a reset of the stylistic context while the factual context is preserved. This process can allow dynamic adaptation …

Reinforcement Learning With A Transient Locking Reward For Audio-Visual Synchronization, Ágoston Weisz
Defensive Publications Series
Generative text-to-video models often exhibit temporal disjointedness where high-impact visual events fail to align with corresponding audio transients. This results in a drifting effect that reduces the perceived impact and immersion of the generated content. To mitigate this, a reinforcement learning framework utilizes a signal-based reward mechanism to synchronize visual motion with audio energy. By shifting focus from high-level semantic guidance to fine-grained signal correlation, the system enables precise temporal timing in synthetic video production.
