Multiple Offloaded And Filtered Ble Advertisement Scanners, Jack He Apr 2024

Multiple Offloaded And Filtered Ble Advertisement Scanners, Jack He

Defensive Publications Series

Scanning operations in Bluetooth low energy (BLE) can be offloaded from the application processor to an auxiliary chip to save power. However, when scanning operations of multiple Bluetooth applications with differing scan intervals and scan windows are merged, power consumption can actually go up because the more frequent scanner can dominate the scanning schedule. This disclosure describes techniques to reduce power consumption during offloaded scan-filtering operations of multiple simultaneous Bluetooth low energy scanners. The Bluetooth controller is made capable of processing multiple scan intervals and scan windows by setting the scan epoch to the greatest common divisor of the scan …

Targeted Video Selection Using Llm-Guided, Interactive Semantic Search, D Shin Apr 2024

Targeted Video Selection Using Llm-Guided, Interactive Semantic Search, D Shin

Defensive Publications Series

Video search interfaces enable users to enter keywords or phrases in a search box to search for videos. However, when initial search results do not meet the user’s needs, users have to re-initiate the search with a modified set of keywords with corresponding new results, which is inefficient and does not utilize information from the previous search. This disclosure describes techniques that enable users to perform interactive video search with iterative use of a large language model (LLM) to identify matching search results. If initial query results are unsatisfactory, the user can provide additional clarifying input in the search box. …

Using Target Wake Time To Mitigate The Effects Of Scanning On Latency In Wifi, Ahmed Elarabawy Apr 2024

Using Target Wake Time To Mitigate The Effects Of Scanning On Latency In Wifi, Ahmed Elarabawy

Defensive Publications Series

WiFi scanning causes the radio to go off-channel to scan for other channels in the WiFi band. This results in excessive latency or breakage in connectivity for latency sensitive applications. This disclosure describes techniques that leverage the target wake time (TWT) feature of WiFi to reduce or eliminate latency or breakages in connectivity arising from scanning. Prior to running a scan, the device sets up a TWT session. Parameters of the TWT session such as service period, session interval, etc. are selected according to the latency requirements of the device. Uninterrupted scans are performed using the main core of the …

Access Control Based On Entire Request Path, David Challoner Apr 2024

Access Control Based On Entire Request Path, David Challoner

Defensive Publications Series

A technique is proposed for signaling when a request path leaves the permissible regions by considering the entire request path as an authorization signal. A data access controller, after receiving a data access request, can determine whether the requested data is subject to regional limitations. If the data is subject to such limitations, the data access controller determines whether each device of the request path is within permissible regions of applicable data controls. The data access controller can also use a device inventory database to apply additional controls based on the characteristics of devices in the request path. If a …

Network Egress Load Prediction Using Artificial Neural Network (Ann) Models, N/A Mar 2024

Network Egress Load Prediction Using Artificial Neural Network (Ann) Models, N/A

Defensive Publications Series

The technology described here is about predicting future network traffic conditions in a network of computing devices, using a machine learning model, such as a long short-term memory (LSTM) model. An LSTM model is trained on network traffic data, which characterizes or quantifies traffic conditions on different links or devices of a network. The output of the trained model is a prediction of traffic conditions over the network within a future time window, for example within the next minutes, hours, days, or longer. The model is trained with a weighted version of the root mean squared error (RMSE) error function, …

Llm-Based Natural Conversational Agent With Speech Collision Detection For Early Prompt Abort, D Shin Mar 2024

Llm-Based Natural Conversational Agent With Speech Collision Detection For Early Prompt Abort, D Shin

Defensive Publications Series

Virtual assistants, chatbots, and other natural language conversational agents enable users to provide spoken or text queries in a natural manner and receive responses. Such conversational agents can utilize large language models (LLMs) as a backend mechanism for query interpretation and response generation. When a user pauses or otherwise interrupts the query input, or modifies query input, the LLM may generate and provide a response to the original query rather than the user’s intended query. This disclosure describes techniques that enable on the fly query interpretation and updates to response generation when a user in conversation with a conversational agent …

Facilitating Fast Emergency Wi-Fi Access In An Openroaming Environment, Malcolm Smith, Scott Ross Blue, Matthew S Macpherson

Defensive Publications Series

Wi-Fi 7 has introduced the Emergency Preparedness Communication Service (EPCS) in support of End-to-End (E2E) Multimedia Priority Services Communications (MPS), which provides preferred or prioritized channel access (PCA) over public/private Wi-Fi networks in emergency service (ES) or enhanced 911 (E911) scenarios. While EPCS may be useful in providing a priority/Quality of Service (QoS) in ES/E911 scenarios, the service does not address challenges of fast access to a wireless local area network (WLAN) in certain environments, such OpenRoaming environments. This proposal provides techniques through which OpenRoaming can be extended to support EPCS in a straightforward manner that can improve service access …

Highly Available Te Path Management For Delegated Paths Across Multiple Pces Without East-West Communication Between Pces, Anonymous Mar 2024

Highly Available Te Path Management For Delegated Paths Across Multiple Pces Without East-West Communication Between Pces, Anonymous

Defensive Publications Series

The present disclosure relates to Traffic Engineering path management with Path Computation Elements (PCEs). Specifically, we allow TE paths to stay in a PCE throughout the entire TE path lifecycle. There is a new “controlling” setting to determine whether the PCE is active for that TE path, allowing the PCE to keep the TE path in its inventory even when it does not have control of the TE path. This uses existing work in the Path Computation Client (PCC) to determine its active and backup PCE by listening to what the PCE Protocol (PCEP) says about delegation of the various …
