The main hypothesis of the present study is that ivabradine (1.0 mg/kg, orally, twice daily) can reduce heart rate (HR), myocardial oxygen consumption (MVO2) and improve cardiac function in dogs with degenerative mitral valve disease (DMVD) partly due to a reduction of cardiomyocyte apoptosis. In order to test the hypothesis, this study was divided into three parts. Obesity has related to the alteration of hormonal profiles, i.e. growth hormone (GH), insulin and leptin. Because of the pleiotropic mechanisms of GH, it plays important roles both in the pathophysiological mechanisms and the therapeutic hormonal supplementation, which probably affected plasma leptin. Pro-inflammatory cytokine IL-1β is a critical mediator of underlying mechanism through activation of myosin light chain kinase pathway. In this thesis an explicit formula for conditional expectations of the product of polynomial and exponential function of an affine transform is derived under the extended function of an transform is derived under the extended Cox-Ingersoll-Ross (ECIR) process. By applying the Feynman-Kac theorem, the explicit formula is revealed from the solution of the corresponding partial differential equation. To support the validity of the obtained results, we, herein, conduct Monte Carlo simulations to investigate the accuracy of the explicit formula.

The vehicle routing problem with backhauls and time windows (VRPBTW) aims to find a feasible vehicle route that minimizes the total traveling distance while imposing capacity, backhaul, and time-window constraints. Graphene based thermoplastic polyurethane composites filaments was prepared by melt blending process prior to fabricate with 3D printing technique. The effects of different graphene loading (0.05 wt% - 0.20 wt%) in TPU matrix on the properties of composites were studied. Initially, graphite was successfully oxidized to graphite oxide following Hummer’s method and the reduction of graphene oxide to graphene by L-ascorbic acid was also achieved as being confirmed by the FTIR and XRD results. The alternansucrase (ALT, EC 2.4.1.140) catalyses transferring of glucose from sucrose to produce a polymer with α-1,6 and α- 1,3 linkages, so-called "alternan". The ALT-encoding gene from Leuconostoc citreum ABK-1 (WTalt) was successfully cloned and expressed in Escherichia coli BL21 (DE3). The two versions of truncated SH3-like domains, ∆3SHALT and ∆7SHALT, were successfully constructed. The WTALT, ∆3SHALT and ∆7SHALT possessed optimum temperature of 40 °C, while optimum pH of WTALT was at 5.0 but ∆3SHALT's and ∆7SHALT's were shifted to pH 4.0. Alpha-glucosidase [EC 3.2.1.20; α-D-glucoside glucohydrolase] is an exohydrolase which catalyzes non-reducing end of substrates to release D-glucose. In addition, alpha-glucosidase also displays a transferase activity, which bring about the formation of α-glucosylated compounds such as soluble starch and glycogen. This research aims to express and characterize α-glucosidase from Weissella confusa BBK-1 (WcAG). WcAG gene was expressed in modified pET28b vector. Fisetin is a flavonoid which was widely exerted in pharmacological industries. However, fisetin has low water solubility and unstable in aqueous solution. So the uses of fisetin have been limited. The purpose of this study was to increase water solubility of fisetin by transglycosylation reaction using cyclodextrin glycosyltransferase (CGTase) from Paenibacillus sp. RB01. In this study, a curcumin-loaded bacterial cellulose films were developed. Bacterial cellulose films were prepared by culturing Gluconacetobacter xylinus in coconut water-based medium. Curcumin, an active substance found in turmeric (Curcuma longa Linn), was then absorbed into never-dried bacterial cellulose pellicles by immersion in 0.5 and 1.0 mg/ml curcumin solutions, with absolute ethanol as solvent, for 24 hours. The curcumin-loaded bacterial cellulose pellicles were then air-dried. Controlled release of curcumin was achieved in buffer solutions containing Tween 80 and methanol additives, at pH 5.5 and 7.4. Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) or brittle bone disease is a genetic disorder characterized by deformities of bones and multiple bone fractures. We identified a new causative gene, MBTPS2, in two unrelated patients with OI inherited in X-linked pattern (X-OI). MBTPS2 or site-2 protease (S2P) is a protease that cleaves the transmembrane proteins to activate them acting as transcription factors. To determine pathomechanism of X-OI caused by MBTPS2 mutations, S2P functions were investigated. RNA and protein of S2P were stable. Instead, the defective S2P decreases its cleavage activities. Isoquinoline alkaloids, a plant secondary metabolites present in many plant species including lotus (Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn.). Lotus leaf contains high amount of bioactive nuciferine and N-nornuciferine. A set of enzyme including NCS, 6OMT and CNMT and WRKY transcription factors (WRKY TFs) has been reported to have corresponding function in the biosynthesis isoquinoline alkaloids. Thus, we performed quantitative analysis on expression level of these corresponing genes and on nuciferine and N-nornuciferine content in lotus leaf using mechanical wounding method. Oxidized carbon nanospheres (OCSs) and graphene oxide sheets (GOShs) were prepared by oxidation of graphite. Oxidized carbon nanotubes (OCTs) was synthesized from single-walled carbon nanotubes. All three shapes of oxidized carbon nanoparticles (OCNs) were used for investigation of their intracellular trafficking in human embryonic kidney cells (HEK293T), mouse macrophage cells (RAW264.7) and human liver cancer cells (HepG2). The results revealed all three shapes of OCNs were internalized into through HEK293T and RAW264.7 cells without endosomal trapping, including localization of all the three OCNs in HEK293T's lysosome. Screening Of Spore Forming D-Lactic Acid Producing Bacteria And Its Optimization, Budsabathip Prasirtsak

In this study, isolation, screening, fermentation optimization, and determination of the expression of key enzymes involving in D-lactic acid production were conducted for selection of the novel D-lactic acid isolate with the high yield, productivity, and optical purity. From the screening experiment, the novel isolate, NK26-11T, was obtained. The isolate NK26-11T was a Gram-stain-positive, catalase-positive, facultatively anaerobic, spore-forming, rod-shaped bacterium isolated from soil sample in Thailand. This isolate homofermentatively fermented glucose for D-lactic acid and grew at the wide range of temperature between 20 and 45 °C and the pH of 5-8.5. The cell-wall peptidoglycan of NK26-11T contained meso-diaminopimelic acid. …

Thailand is one of the largest cooked chicken meat exporting country in the world. Unfortunately, these products can be contaminated with L. monocytogenes causes the disease Listeriosis which carries a fatality rate of 30 to 40 percent. Therefore, the various importing countries including Japan and the European countries require a zero tolerance for L. monocytogenes in the cooked chicken products. Besides, all Listeria spp. occurrence, and not only L. monocytogenes, in these products is also unacceptable to the importers. Currently, cancer is the top cause of death in Thailand and caused by the growth and spreading of abnormal cells in an uncontrolled manner. For T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL), it was found that gene of encoding protein Notch is often mutated. In T-ALL, Notch signaling pathway is hyperactivated resulting in uncontrolled cell division.
