Production And Characterization Of Monoclonal Antibodies Against Listeria Monocytogenes, Korrakot Prommajan Jan 2014

Production And Characterization Of Monoclonal Antibodies Against Listeria Monocytogenes, Korrakot Prommajan

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

Listeria monocytogenes contaminated in foods is a bacteria that can cause Listeriosis in human and animals. Detection of this bacteria in food products is required in order to reduce the opportunity of infection and increases consumers’ trust on taking food safely. Diagnostic based on immunological method with monoclonal antibody (MAb) specific to pathogen is accurate and precise. The objective of this research was to produce MAbs against L. monocytogenes NCTC 11994 and EGD-e strains by immunization mice with heat-inactivated, sonicated- and SDS-mercaptoethanol treated forms. After cell fusion 21 of hybridoma were obtained. MAbs reacted crossly with some Listeria spp. and …

Mechanical And Thermal Properties Of Polylactide/Polymeric Plasticizers, Wanlapha Apising Jan 2014

Mechanical And Thermal Properties Of Polylactide/Polymeric Plasticizers, Wanlapha Apising

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

The current study focused on flexibility improvement of polylactide by using three new types of plasticizers: diethyl succinate, glycerol ethoxylate, poly(di(ethylene glycol)adipate). The plasticizer concentrations were varied depending on each type. Mechanical property of the plasticized polymers was investigated. It was found that elongation at break of the plasticized polymers was increased, whereas tensile strength and Young’s modulus were decreased. The plasticized polymer with diethyl succinate exhibited the highest elongation at break. Thermal property of the plasticized polymers containing glycerol ethoxylate yielded the lowest Tg and Tc. When the plasticizers were added, thermal property was reduced, in which the plasticized …

Synthesis Of Poly(N-Isopropylacrylamide)-Based Nanogels Via Differential Microemulsion Polymerization For Drug Delivery Systems, Meshaya Pruettiphap Jan 2014

Synthesis Of Poly(N-Isopropylacrylamide)-Based Nanogels Via Differential Microemulsion Polymerization For Drug Delivery Systems, Meshaya Pruettiphap

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

This thesis is to study the synthesis of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide-co-protic acid) nanogels and their performance to be used as drug delivery carriers. The objective is to achieve thermal/pH-responsive nanogels with a lower critical solution temperature (LCST) close to human body temperature. Differential microemulsion polymerization (DMP) technique, which has been considered the best one to produce nanoparticles of a high solid content with a low surfactant amount, was applied. Specifically, one-step DMP was used for synthesizing poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) preparation while two-step DMP was adopted to synthesize poly[N-isopropylacrylamide-co-(acrylic acid)] (poly(NIPAM-co-AA)) and poly[N-isopropylacrylamide-co-(itaconic acid)] (poly(NIPAM-co-IA)) nanogels, in which sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS) was used …

The Effects Of Additives In Ethylene Glycol Based Lubricant On Slider Lapping Process, Patara Paranusorn Jan 2014

The Effects Of Additives In Ethylene Glycol Based Lubricant On Slider Lapping Process, Patara Paranusorn

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

Lapping process is a key technology in magnetic recording head manufacturing process. Thin film of metal alloys and metal oxides are fabricated on ceramic substrate called wafer to create the recording heads. In order to control surface properties of the recording head, the precise chemical mechanical nano grinding process is used. In this process the recording heads are treated to achieve the designed surface properties by using lubricants to control the selectivity of material removal. The aim of this study was to determine the effects of additives in ethylene glycol based lubricant on the selectivity of material removal of slider …

Synthesis Of Cu-Zn Alloy Nanoparticles By Microwave–Assisted Polyol Process, Pornpun Arundechachai Jan 2014

Synthesis Of Cu-Zn Alloy Nanoparticles By Microwave–Assisted Polyol Process, Pornpun Arundechachai

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

In this research, copper-zinc alloy nanoparticles were synthesized through the microwave-assisted polyol co-reduction process in ethylene glycol. The effects of molar ratio of copper to zinc ratio, sodium hydroxide to metal ratio and method of adding ascorbic acid were studied. The particles size, microstructure and morphology of nanoparticles obtained were characterized by XRD, SEM and TEM. The particles obtained synthesized at copper to zinc at 90:10, sodium hydroxide to metal ratio at 5:1 and dropping ascorbic acid at room temperature. The results confirmed the formation of copper-zinc alloy with diameters of particles in range of 20-50 nm. The conductive ink …

Simulation Of Temperature Distribution In A Thermal Drying Oven Based On Three Dimensional Cfd Model, Patsarawan Lipikanjanakul Jan 2014

Simulation Of Temperature Distribution In A Thermal Drying Oven Based On Three Dimensional Cfd Model, Patsarawan Lipikanjanakul

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

This research presents a study of air velocity in a thermal drying oven in drying zone. To reduce a heat loss, a mass flow rates are decreased from 100% to 10%. The effect of the mass flow rate can be divided into three parts; air velocity, air temperature, and concentration of solvent. A three-dimensional CFD with a non-isothermal model and a transport of diluted species were simulated by using COMSOL. For ensuring the result, all results are compared with MATLAB program by focusing in two-direction (length-height). The parameters of air velocity that uses in this program is the results of …

Metathesis Reaction Of Ethylene And 2-Butene On Molybdenum-Based Catalysts, Benjamas Netiworaruksa Jan 2014

Metathesis Reaction Of Ethylene And 2-Butene On Molybdenum-Based Catalysts, Benjamas Netiworaruksa

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

This dissertation studies and develops the supported molybdenum catalyst for metathesis reaction of ethylene and 2-butene to produce propylene. It was found that the major factor affecting the catalytic performance for metathesis reaction is the catalyst support. From this study, it was firstly revealed that the suitable support for molybdenum-based catalyst is the mixed support of alumina and zeolite. The catalyst containing alumina support prepared from aluminium nitrate physically mixed with HBeta support could provide high selectivity of propylene. The optimum ratio of the composite support of alumina and zeolite was 3:1. However, the most optimum support obtaining propylene selectivity …

Effect Of Additives In Lubricant On Cobalt-Iron Alloy Lapping, Wiraya Anamnart Jan 2014

Effect Of Additives In Lubricant On Cobalt-Iron Alloy Lapping, Wiraya Anamnart

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

To maintain this flying height of read-write head (called slider) at 12 nm across the disk, read and writer elements will be lapped to meet designed surface roughness, surface topography, as well as magnetic property. The writer element was made from cobalt-iron alloy (CoFe). Final lapping process of sliders uses lubricant to control surface morphology and to avoid corrosion. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of additives on corrosion protection of CoFe. The corrosion was studied by potentiostat technique and atomic force microscopy (AFM). Water content was determined by Karl Fischer method. Thin film passivation was …
