B-cell activating factor (BAFF), an important cytokine for B lymphocyte activation that implicated in the pathogenesis and disease progression chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients. This study aimed at evaluating clinical correlation and prognostic role of plasma BAFF, BAFF receptor and related polymorphisms in patients with CHB undergoing pegylated interferon (peg-IFN) treatment and HBV-related hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). This study shown that BAFF levels were elevated during treatment but decreased to pre-treatment levels after peg-IFN cessation in HBeAg-positive CHB patients. Exercise of skeletal muscles enhances image contrast in T2-weighted magnetic resonance (MR) images. The multidrug resistance in N. gonorrhoeae has been increasingly reported worldwide. The objectives of this study were to investigate the prevalence and the mechanisms of ceftriaxone resistance in N. gonorrhoeae Thai isolates, and to investigate the synergistic activities of antibiotic combinations against N. gonorrhoeae isolates with reduced susceptibility or resistance to ceftriaxone. Macrophage plasticity is a process that allows macrophages to switch between two opposing phenotypes based on differential stimuli. Functional plasticity of macrophages contributes to disease pathogenesis such as cancer, metabolic diseases, autoimmune diseases and systemic infections. Interferon (IFN)-λ is a relatively unexplored, yet promising anti-viral agent. IFN-λ has recently been tested in clinical trials of chronic hepatitis B, with the advantage that side effects may be limited compared with IFN-α, as IFN-λ receptors are found only in epithelial cells. To date, IFN-λ downstream signaling pathway remains largely unelucidated, particularly via proteomics methods. Here, we report that IFN-λ3 inhibits HBV replication in HepG2.2.15 cells, reducing levels of both HBV transcripts and intracellular HBV DNA. Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) is a widespread pathogen, which has diverse clinical manifestations from mild localized infection to severe systemic infection. The tissue tropism of HSV-1 is mainly epithelial and mucosal cells. However, it can also multiply in T lymphocytes suggesting a cause of viremia. In this study, CD3+CD4-CD8- Jurkat T lymphocytes were used. Under activation, up-regulation of CD69 molecules on cell surface was observed. Increase yield of HSV-1 production in activated T lymphocytes was demonstrated. Bacterial endotoxin (lipopolysaccharide; LPS), is a potent inducer of inflammation that has been associated with the pathophysiology of sepsis. Background: The timing of initiation of renal replacement therapy (RRT) in severe acute kidney injury (AKI) remains controversial, with early initiation resulting in unnecessary therapy for some patients while expectant therapy may delay RRT for other patients. The furosemide stress test (FST) has been shown to predict the need for RRT and therefore could be used to exclude low-risk patients from enrollment in trials of RRT timing. However, there is no suitable theory or knowledge to guide nursing practice to these women. This study aimed to survey the attitudes and knowledge of Thai general dental practitioners (GDPs) in proving dental implant maintenance care. The online questionnaire was sent to Thai GDPs who graduated between 2000 and 2016. Of the returned 435 questionnaires, 429 completely filled were included for analysis. 76% of the participants were female and 24% were male. Half of the participants were aged 28-33 years old and 78% of the participants have been working as a GDP 10 years or below.
