Expression Of Predicted Salt Tolerant Gene In Rice Oryza Sativa L. And Characterization Of Osbtbz1 Gene, Triono Bagus Saputro

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

Rice (Oryza sativa L.) holds significant importance as a primary food source globally. In Asia, the production of rice plays a crucial role in enhancing food security. Salinity poses a substantial constraint on plants like rice, leading to a reduction in their growth and overall productivity. The advancement of transcriptomics in agriculture has provided a powerful tool for understanding the molecular processes in crops, contributing to the development of more resilient, productive, and sustainable agricultural systems. The transcriptomic approach in rice using two rice lines with close genetic relationships, but different salt tolerance ability, CSSL16 and KDML105 combined with single …

Research On Chinese Language Education Policy And Chinese Language Education Development In Thailand, Mengyao Zeng

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

Development of Chinese language Education in Thailand is highly typical, not only leading in global Chinese language education but also pioneering numerous firsts. Thailand was the first country to incorporate Chinese into its national education system, the first to invite Chinese language teacher volunteers from China, and the first to establish Confucius Classrooms. Over a century, Thai Chinese language education has experienced both prosperous "springs" and challenging "winters." In recent years, with the warming of Sino-Thai relations and the increased attention from the Thai Ministry of Education, the number of Mandarin learners has surged, marking a period of significant development …

The Development Of Novel Chimeric Antigen Receptor T Cell Targeting B7h3 For Common Solid Cancers, Thananya Inthanachai

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR-T cells) have shown a prominent success in hematologic malignancies and are being widely investigated to overcome heterogeneity and immune suppressive environment in solid tumors. B7 homolog 3 (B7H3), an overexpressed antigen across multiple cancers with restricted expression on normal tissues, serves as a potential target for CAR T cells therapy. This study, Gene Expression Profiling Interactive Analysis 2 (GEPIA 2) was used to evaluate CD276 gene upregulation and using flow cytometric staining to investigate an expression of B7H3 across various solid tumors. As a potential antigen targeting cancers, novel B7H3 CAR-T cells were developed from new …

The More Severe Adverse Effect Of Alcohol In Fc Gamma Receptor Iib Deficient (Fcgrllb-/-) Lupus Mice Than In Wild-Type Due To The More Profound Responses Against Alcohol-Induced Leaky Gut, Phatcharapon Yiengwattananon Jan 2023

The More Severe Adverse Effect Of Alcohol In Fc Gamma Receptor Iib Deficient (Fcgrllb-/-) Lupus Mice Than In Wild-Type Due To The More Profound Responses Against Alcohol-Induced Leaky Gut, Phatcharapon Yiengwattananon

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

Consuming alcoholic beverages is well-known to have a part in causing inflammation and obstructing the function of the digestive system, and it may lead to leaky intestines. However, the relationship between alcohol consumption and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) remains a subject of controversy continued. In general, alcohol can promote intestinal bacterial dysbiosis and also result in endotoxin release by Gram-negative bacteria. This stimulates many immune cells to produce inflammatory cytokines in the gut. This study focuses on the inflammatory response effect of FcgRIIb-/- mice upon loss of FcgRIIb receptors in which alcohol-induced leaky gut can occur. In 8-week-old mice lacking …

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

Excessive glycerol, a major by-product of biodiesel industry, has been increasingly utilized as a platform chemical feedstock for production of value-added chemicals. Accordingly, this study aims to simulate the productions of propionic acid (PA), succinic acid (SA), and dihydroxyacetone (DHA) from glycerol via fermentation. For PA production, diluents and extractants as well as techniques in the back-extraction are investigated, whereas the techniques of reactive extraction and direct crystallization, as well as the use of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) as an electron acceptor for SA production are investigated. Meanwhile, the effects of carbon source types and glycerol types on the DHA productivity …

Depression Classification On Privacy Protected Facial Features Data, Yanisa Mahayossanunt Jan 2023

Depression Classification On Privacy Protected Facial Features Data, Yanisa Mahayossanunt

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

This thesis presents depression classification on privacy protected facial features data. Fast depression classification to help patients receive proper treatment is a method that can prevent the damage of depression. However, fast and effective depression classification is difficult because medical personnel are adequate and the time to analyze depression is long per patient. Applied artificial intelligence in the medical field can help reduce the workload of medical personnel. It is also difficult because of privacy protection. Therefore, we utilize extracted facial features from facial expressions in clinical interview videos to develop a machine learning model. The model utilizes LSTM, attention …

The Expressions Of Mhc Class I And Class Ii In Biopsy Tissues By Immunohistochemistry And The Effect Of Interferon-Gamma (Ifn-Γ) On In Vitro Established Canine Cutaneous Mast Cell Tumors, Sudchaya Bhanpattanakul

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

Canine mast cell tumors (MCT), common skin tumors in dogs, present difficulties in treatment, emphasizing the need for effective therapeutic protocols. The cancer-immunity cycle's complex interactions between cancer and the immune system play a crucial role in tumor growth. Tumors often evade immune response by downregulating MHC expression, hindering T-cell recognition. Cancer immunotherapy is a promising approach that utilizes the patient's immune system for combating cancer. Interferon-gamma (IFN-γ), a potent immune substance, plays a crucial role in enhancing MHC expression and immune functionality, crucial for T-cell recognition and cancer cell elimination. Limited research exists on MHC expression, tumor immune response, …

Upscale Production Of Canine Adipose-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cell-Derived Exosomes For Wound Healing In Vitro, Yudith Violetta Pamulang

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

Mesenchymal stem cell-derived exosomes (MSC-derived exosomes) have been previously reported to enhance wound healing across different phases. However, its practical application has been hindered due to challenges regarding low productivity and the lack of efficient production protocol. Additionally, the usage of exosome-based regenerative treatments in the veterinary field remains relatively unexplored. Hence, this study aimed to address these gaps by establishing a potential upscaling protocol producing canine adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cell-derived exosomes (cAD-MSC-exosomes) and exploring their wound healing potential in vitro. To facilitate production protocol establishment, an in-house exosome-collecting media, designated as VSCBIC-3, was preliminarily developed. Building upon this foundation, …

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

Streptococcus suis serotype 2 (S. suis 2) is an important porcine pathogen that causes diseases in both swine and humans. For rapid S. suis 2 identification, a novel latex agglutination test (LAT) based on heavy-chain variable domain antibody (VH) was developed. Firstly, the soluble 47B3 VH antibody fragment from a phage display library, in which cysteine residues were engineered at the C-terminus, was expressed in Escherichia coli. The purified protein was then gently reduced to form monomeric soluble 47B3 VH subsequently used to coat with latex beads by means of site-specific conjugation. The detection sensitivity was found to be as …
