Analytical Solutions Of Fuzzy Fractional Boundary Value Problem Of Order 2Α By Using Rkhs Algorithm, Mohammad Abdel Aal, Nisrein Abu-Darwish, Omar Abu Arqub, Mohammed Al-Smadi, Shaher Momani
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
In this article, an effective numerical solution for fractional fuzzy differential equations of order 2α subject to appropriate fuzzy boundary conditions has been provided by using the Reproducing Kernel (RK) algorithm in Caputo sense. The reproducing kernel functions are built, in which the constraint conditions are satisfied, to yield a fast and accurate RK algorithm for handling these BVPs. The solution methodology is based on constructing the fractional series solution based on the reproducing-kernel theory in the form of a rapidly convergent series with a minimum size of calculations using symbolic computation software. The analytical solution is formulated in the …

Conformable Decomposition For Analytical Solutions Of A Time-Fractional One-Factor Markovian Model For Bond Pricing, S. O. Edeki, I. Adinya, G. O. Akinlabi, O. P. Ogundile
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
In financial and option pricing setting, one-factor model denotes the notion that there exists one Wiener process in the definition of the short-rate process indicating one source of randomness. In this paper, approximate-analytical solution of a time- fractional one-factor Markovian model for bond pricing is considered using the approach of conformable decomposition. The method is a modified version of Adomian decomposition coupled with fractional derivative defined in conformable sense. Illustrative examples are presented in order to clarify the effectiveness of the proposed solution method, and the solutions are presented graphically based on some financial parameters at different values of the …

Bayesian Estimation Of Generalized Half-Logistic Distribution Under Accelerated Life Tests With Type-I Censoring, Faten A. Momenkhan
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
In this paper, we consider partially step-stress ALT model when the lifetime of units under normal condition follows the generalized half-logistic lifetime distribution based on Type-1 censored scheme. The likelihood functions of the parameters are derived and solved to present the Maximum Likelihood Estimators (MLEs) of the model parameters. The approximate confidence intervals are also proposed. Bayesian point and credible intervals are developed and results are discussed through two numerical examples.

A Nonstandard Finite Difference Scheme For Water-Related Disease Mathematical Model, Meksianis Z. Ndii, Bertha S. Djahi, David Tambaru
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
In this paper, a Nonstandard Finite Difference Scheme (NSFDS) is constructed for a water-related disease mathematical model. The properties of the resulting discrete models are analysed and compared with its corresponding deterministic model. Furthermore, we compare the numerical solutions of NSDFS, Euler method and MATLAB’s ode45. It is shown that the resulting discrete model preserves essential properties of the continous model such as positivity and stability. The results are confirmed numerically. Furthermore, numerical simulations using NSFDS, Euler method and MATLAB’s ode45 give similar results.

Fault-Tolerant Control For Uncertain Stochastic Singular Time-Delayed Systems Under Non-Linear Fault Inputs And Actuator Failures, V. J. Nirmala, S. Gomathi, T. Saravanakumar
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
Thispaperreportsthenovelfault-tolerantcontrolissuesforaclassofuncertainstochasticsingulartime-delyedsystemswith respect to nonlinear fault inputs and actuator failures. More precisely, the delay factor is assumed to be time-varying which belongs to a given interval and parameter uncertainties which are assumed to be time-varying but norm-bounded. By using linear matrix inequality approach together with Lyapunov technique, a delay-dependent condition is derived, which ensures the uncertain stochastic singular system to be regular, impulse-free and asymptotically stable. A robust fault-tolerant control design has been derived to achieve the robust asymptotic stability for all admissible parameter uncertainties, independent of the time-delay and in the presence of certain actuator failures. A set of sufficient …

Regime Classification Of Geldart B Food Particles In Circulating Fluidized Bed, N. Subramanian, K. Saravanan
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
The flow characteristic velocities with respect to flow regime classification have been estimated. Flow characteristics in CFB mainly depend on gas velocity, in which the regimes include bubbling, turbulent, fast and pneumatic fluidization. The flow characteristics depend on particle characteristics, bed geometry and gas velocity. Furthermore, in a CFB, the flow regime depends on gas velocity and solid circulation rate. Circulating fluidized bed operates under fast fluidization regime. A cold model of a CFB with column height of 1200 mm and diameter of 50 mm is operated under wide range of gas velocity and solid concentration. Transport velocity is regarded …

Enhanced Data Parallelism For Irregular Memory Access Optimization On Gpu, Tamizharasan P. S., Ramasubramanian N.
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
The use of many-core architectures improves the performance of most of the data-intensive applications. One of the challenging tasks for modern many-core architectures is to handle the irregular memory access effectively. Unlike regular memory access applications, an increase in the size of the problem in an irregular memory access application leads to a reduction in overall performance. A mapping between on-chip and off-chip memory through the heterogeneous communication channel also poses significant challenges. In this paper, a k-exchange algorithm with ant colony optimization is proposed to improve the performance of irregular memory access applications such as Multi-dimensional Knapsack Problem (MKP) …

Numerical Modeling Of Heat And Mass Transfer With A Single-Phase Flow In A Porous Cavity, Mohamed F. El-Amin, Shereen Abdel-Naeem, Nehma A. Ebrahiem
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
This work is intended to study the problem of heat and mass transfer with single-phase flow in a porous cavity. The model of this problem consists of the conservation laws of energy, momentum, and mass. The cavity boundaries are described by mixed Dirichlet-Neumann boundary conditions. The momentum equation which is represented by Darcy’s law has been solved with the continuity equation to give the pressure implicitly, then the velocity of the field has been calculated explicitly. Therefore, both energy equation and concentration equations are solved implicitly. The multiscale time-splitting implicit method has been used to treat the temporal discretization of …

Effect Of Inertia On Viscous Fluid In A Wall-Driven Corner Flow With Leakage, Asif Mahmood
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
A study of the inertial flow of a viscous fluid near the corner of two intersecting walls with leakage is presented. The flow is primarily generated when one of the walls is moved parallel to itself, but a mass source or sink due to leakage at the apex of the corner can also effect it. The non-linear partial differential equations that arise due to inertial forces are solved analytically, and an approximate solution is obtained by applying a recursive approach. Furthermore, the expressions for stream functions, velocity fields, pressure fields, and the tangential and normal stresses upto second approximation have …

Predator-Two Preys Population Dynamics Model With Adaptive Management, J. J. Yermekbayeva, A. N.Omarov, L. V. Nedorezov, R. E.Shakirova
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
In this paper, a model of predator-two preys system dynamics is considered. Within the framework of such model, it is assumed that preys are not competitors. The hypothesis that the simultaneous existence of three species excluding realization of regimes of mass propagation is tested. It is believed that elimination of one of prey populations leads to conditions when other population obtains the opportunity to escape from predator’s control and to realize mass propagation. In this model, a nonlinear control law is taken into account. This variant of system management allows provision of effective control of population sizes. In particular, this …
