Performance Optimization In Body Sensor Network Using Self Calibration Tdma Algorithm, M. Mohammed Mustafa, V. Parthasarathy

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

The paper focuses on variation in performance characteristics, such as the packet delivery ratio, throughput, jitter, and the delay, varies when the queue length has been changed. The results proved that there is no impact on the jitter when the queue length was varied. The packet delivery ratio and the throughput are increased when the queue length are increased by 10. Hence, the self- calibrating TDMA algorithm can be used to implement the body sensor network and queue length can be kept at 20 to be optimized for good throughput and packet delivery ratio.

Co-Extraction Of Feature Sentiment And Context Terms For Context-Sensitive Feature-Based Sentiment Classification Using Attentive-Lstm, S. K .Lavanya, B. Parvathavarthini

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

In the field of business intelligence, the context in which customers see, hear and think about a product plays an important role in their call of buying the product. Context-sensitive sentiment classification methods determine the polarity of the sentiment terms by considering the contexts of the target word. Most of the present techniques consider only product-level, user-level contexts for sentiment classification. These contexts are more general and depend on additional features to achieve good performance. Feature-level contexts e.g., car’s features include mileage and its context comprises city, highway, short-trips, long-trips and hill station providing fine-grained information needed for sentiment classification. …

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

An effective model based on the bound and decomposition method and the separable programming method is proposed in this paper for solving Fully Fuzzy Multi-Level Quadratically Constrained Quadratic Programming (FFMLQCQP) problem, where the objective function and the constraints are quadratic, also all the coefficients and variables of both objective functions and constraints are described fuzzily as fuzzy numbers. The bound and decomposition method is recommended to decompose the given (FFMLQCQP) problem into series of crisp Quadratically-Constrained Quadratic Programming (QCQP) problems with bounded variable constraints for each level. Each (QCQP) problem is then solved independently by utilizing the separable programming method, …

Approximate Asymptotic Confidence Interval For The Population Standard Deviation Based On The Sample Gini’S Mean Difference, Moustafa O. A. Abu-Shawiesh, Aamir Saghir, B. M. Golam Kibria

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

In this paper, an approximate asymptotic confidence interval for the population standard deviation (σ) is constructed based on the sample Gini’s Mean Difference (GMD). The estimated Coverage Probability (CP) and the Average Width (AW) of the proposed approximate asymptotic confidence interval were studied by means of a Monte-Carlo simulation under different settings and compared with two-widely used methods, namely the exact method and the Bonnet (2006) method. It appears that the proposed approximate asymptotic confidence interval method based on GMD performing well comparing to the exact method for some selected distributions. Two real-life data examples are analyzed to illustrate the …

Some Types Of Soft Ordered Maps Via Soft Pre Open Sets, T. M. Al-Shami, M. E. El-Shafei

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

In this study, we define the concepts of soft x-pre continuous, soft x-pre open, soft x-pre closed and soft x-pre homeomorphism maps, where x ∈ {I,D,B}. These concepts are formulated depending on the increasing, decreasing and balancing soft pre open sets. We characterize these concepts and illustrate the relationships among them with the help of examples. Among the interesting obtained results are those associate concepts with their counterparts on topological ordered spaces.

Time-Convolutionless Master Equation For Multi-Level Open Quantum Systems With Initial System-Environment Correlations, Nikolai N. Bogolyubov, Jr., Andrey V. Soldatov

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

Being closed and homogeneous in the reduced statistical operator, exact and approximate time-convolutionless differential master equations are derived by means of the projection operator method for the reduced statistical operator of a multi-level quantum system with finite number N of quantum energy eigenstates interacting with arbitrary external deterministic fields and dissipative environment simultaneously. Despite being homogeneous, these equations take into account initial correlations between the multi-level system and the environment.

Lomax-Rayleigh Distribution With An Application, Osvaldo Venegas, Yuri A. Iriarte, Juan M. Astorga, He ́Ctor W. Go ́Mez

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

We propose and study a two-parameter univariate distribution called the Lomax-Rayleigh distribution, which is shown to belong to the Lomax-Weibull family of distributions. It is generated using the Lomax-G generator class of distributions. Various structural properties including expressions for the moments, skewness and kurtosis coefficients of the distribution are derived. The model parameters are estimated by moment and maximum likelihood methods. We hope that the distribution proposed here serves as an alternative model to other models with two parameters proposed in the literature for modeling real data in many areas.

Investigation Of Pinched Hysteresis Of A Memristor Emulator Under Ferroresonance, S. Poornima, C. Pugazhendhi Sugumaran

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

The frequent occurrence of ferroresonance phenomenon has destructive effects in distribution systems. The jump resonance accompanied by harmonics can be effectively mitigated using a nonlinear component. The upcoming memristor technology is applied in this work to control the ferroresonance in an inductive voltage transformer, which is used in a distribution substation. Due to non- commercialization of memristors, an emulator in the form of an electrolytic cell is developed. The set-up uses saturated copper sulfate (CuSO4) solution as the electrolyte and copper electrodes having different cross sectional areas. Nonlinearity is realized in the form of the pinched hysteresis loop in the …

N Two-Transmon-Qubit Quantum Logic Gates Realized In A Circuit Qed System, T. Said, A. Chouikh, M. Bennai

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

We theoretically present an effective method to realize NiSWAP, N(sqrt(iSWAP)), NSWAP, N(sqrt(SWAP)) and NTQ-NOT gates based on the qubit-qubit interaction in a circuit QED using N+1 transmon qubits driven by a strong microwave field. In this system, the interaction between the qubits and the resonator field can be achieved by turning the gate voltage and the external flux. The operation time is independent of the number of qubits involved in the scheme, and the gates operations are insensitive to the initial state of the resonator. These quantum logic gates can be realized in a time (nanosecond-scale) much smaller than decoherence …

New Ostrowski Type Inequalities For Coordinated (S, M)−Convex Functions In The Second Sense, Miguel J. Vivas-Cortez, Carlos Garcıa, Artion Kashuri, Jorge E. Hernandez Hernandez

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

In the present work we introduce the class of (s,m)-convex functions on the coordinates and some new Ostrowski-type inequalities are deduced for this kind of generalized convex functions. The results obtained have the absolute value of the second partial derivative with respect to the coordinates (∂2 f/∂r∂t) in the aforementioned class and bounded, as a necessary condition. This generalizes the results for convex functions of [10]. Also, some corollary is presented.
