An optimized bibliometric method was applied in this work to evaluate global scientific production of data mining papers of the Science Citation Index (SCI). In compared with traditional bibliometric keyword analysis, a semantic words class was established by applying the text extraction mode to remove noise in the abstract and combining with the core relative phrases retrieved from keywords to get the sample for further experiment. The analysis shows a high correlation between title and keywords, and the title reports less information than keywords does. Also, keywords provide more positive guidance to know and be familiar with the status and …

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
Monitoring network data streams in real-time to check security event become more and more important along with the rapid growth of Internet applications. The detection typically treats the traffic as a collection of flows that need to be examined for significant changes in traffic pattern (e.g., volume, number of connections). However, as link speeds and the number of flows increase, keeping perflow state is either too expensive or too slow.We propose building compact summaries of the traffic data using the notion of sketches. In this paper, we proposed an IP address traceability network anomaly detection method at right time based on …

A Genetic Algorithm Approach For Toc-Based Supply Chain Coordination, Kaijun Leng, Xiangjun Chen
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
A supply chain is a network of retailers, distributors, manufacturers, and suppliers cooperating to satisfy customers demands. In traditional business environments, each business tries to minimize its costs based on its own cost structure, regardless of other SC participants. However, most decisions made by each SC members are based on the profitability of their own. In this paper, we consider a two-level supply chain in which retailer orders exceeds the suppliers capacity. To balance supply and demand, we proposed a coordination mechanism based on Theory of Constraints (TOC) in face of meeting peak demand in certain period for the whole …

Teleportation In The Presence Of Technical Defects In Transmission Stations, A.-H. M. Ahmed, M. N. Zakaria, N. Metwally
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
The process of teleport information remotely in presence of an error in the implementation of the local operations as CNOT and Hadamard gate at the sending station is discussed. Through the control of the laboratory equipment the errors in the achieving the local operations could be resisted. The imperfect CNOT gates performance could be improved as the error’s strength in implementing of the Hadamard gate increases. It is shown that the accuracy of the information transfer not only depends on the laboratory equipment, but also on nature of the information to be teleported.

Receding Horizon Chaos Synchronization Method, Choon Ki Ahn, Chul Dong Lee, Moon Kyou Song
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
This article proposes a new synchronization method, called a receding horizon synchronization (RHS) method, for a general class of chaotic systems. A new linear matrix inequality (LMI) condition on the finite terminal weighting matrix is proposed for chaotic systems under which non-increasing monotonicity of the optimal cost is guaranteed. It is shown that the proposed terminal inequality condition guarantees the closed-loop stability of the RHS method for chaotic systems. As an application of the proposed method, the RHS problem for Chua’s chaotic system is investigated.

A-Statistical Convergence Of A Class Of Integral Operators, Octavian Agratini
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
Starting from a general sequence of linear and positive operators of summation integral type, we associate its r-th order generalization. This construction involves high order derivatives of a signal and it looses the positivity property. Considering that the initial approximation process is A-statistically pointwise convergent, we prove that the property is inherited by the new sequence. The study is developed for smooth functions defined both on an unbounded interval and on a compact interval.

The exponentiated -parent distribution is a generalization of the standard parent distribution. [7] introduced a simple generalization to weibull distribution namely the exponentiated weibull distribution. The new distribution was applied to analyzing bathtub failure rates lifetime data. In this paper, we consider the standard exponentiated inverted weibull distribution (EIW) that generalizes the standard inverted weibull distribution (IW), the new distribution has two shape parameters. The moments, median, survival function, hazard function, maximum likelihood estimators, least-squares estimators, fisher information matrix and asymptotic confidence intervals have been discussed. A real data set is analyzed and it is observed that the (EIW) distribution …

A Scorza–Dragoni Approach To Second-Order Boundary Value Problems In Abstract Spaces, Jan Andres, Luisa Malaguti, Martina Pavlackov´
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
The existence and localization of strong (Carath´eodory) solutions is proved for a second-order Floquet problem in a Banach space. The result is obtained by combining a continuation principle together with a bounding (Liapunov-like) functions approach. The application of the Scorza–Dragoni type technique allows us to use strictly localized transversality conditions.

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
The Gamma function $\Gamma^{(s)} (-r)$ is defined by \beqa \Gamma^{(s)}(-r)= \Nlim_{\epsilon\to 0}\int _\epsilon^ \infty t^{-r-1} \ln^s t\,e^{-t}\,dt \eeqa for $r,s=0,1,2,\ldots ,$ where $N$ is the neutrix having domain $N=\{ \epsilon :\ 0<\epsilon< \infty\}$ with negligible functions finite linear sums of the functions $$\epsilon^ \lam \ln ^{s-1} \epsilon, \ \ \ln^s\epsilon:\ \ \lam<0,\ \ s=1,2,\ldots$$ and all functions which converge to zero in the normal sense as $\epsilon$ tends to zero.\ \noindent In the classical sense $Gamma$ functions is not defined for the negative integer. In this study, it is proved that \beqa \Gamma (-r) ={(-1)^r\over r!}\phi(r)- {(-1)^r \over r!}\, \gamma\eeqa for $r=1,2,\ldots,$ where $$\phi(r) =\sum _{i=1} ^r {1\over i}.$$ \noindent Further results are also proved.

On Full Seismic Waveform Inversion By Descent Methods In A Lattice, Marcos Capistran, M. A. Moreles, Joaquin Pena
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
In this work we are concerned with the full waveform inversion problem. The problem is formulated as one of minimizing a nonlinear least squares functional. Assuming Fr\{e}chet differentiability we use the adjoint state approach to compute the gradient. To approximate local minima, we develop a discrete framework for descent methods in a finite difference lattice. We describe the methods of Gradient descent with line search and the positive definite secant update (BFGS) for computation in the lattice. To illustrate the methods numerical solutions of several examples in 1D are presented. In this case we carry out some analysis and provide …

A Strong Password-Based Remote Mutual Authentication With Key Agreement Scheme On Elliptic Curve Cryptosystem For Portable Devices, Xuelei Li, Fengtong Wen, Shenjun Cui
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
In this paper, we cryptanalyze Kim et al.’s scheme and point out several weaknesses in their scheme. Off-line password guessing/dictionary attack could be effective. Moreover, we demonstrate that there is a mistake in their security analysis. To remedy the weaknesses, we propose a more secure, robust and practical scheme, which is designed for portable devices based upon the discrete logarithm on elliptic curve. In addition, the expensive synchronization clock system is replaced by nonce(ephemeral random number), and the new scheme provides more functions for security and flexibility, including key agreement, password change, secret number update, revocation and DoS-resistant. Finally, security …

Coherent Risk Measure Based On Relative Entropy, Zheng Chengli, Chen Yan
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
This article proposes a new coherent risk measure called iso-entropic risk measure, which is based on relative entropy under the theory framework of Artzner et al.(1999). It is pointed that this measure is just the negative expectation of the risk portfolio position under the probability measure through Esscher transformation. This iso-entropic risk measure is not a 0-1 risk measure and very smooth in contrast with another important coherent risk measure AV @R (Average Value at Risk). And it is a little larger than AV @R at the same level, namely it is has more prudence. So it maybe a better …

Fast Evaluation Of Canonical Oscillatory Integrals, Ying Liu
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
Fast evaluation of oscillatory integrals is an issue attracts much attention in many fields. In this paper, we are interested in the calculation of canonical oscillatory integrals, and the irregular oscillatory integrals are transformed into canonical ones with respect to the presences of stationary phase points or not. An improved-Levin method is proposed to calculated the canonical oscillatory integral, where the eigen-decomposition is employed to solve the target system of linear equation, and a much higher efficiency is yielded in comparison with the direct solution methods such as the Gaussian elimination.

Study Of Reversible Information Hiding Scheme Based On Ghm And Asa, Shuai Ren, Tao Zhang, Dejun Mu
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
Information hiding based on digital images is still the mainstream now. In this paper, using first-order transformation of GHM multi-wavelet, carrier image is decomposed into four components of lowest resolution sub-image. These four components are processed by ASA (Annulus Sector Analysis) to obtain embedding areas. Information hiding follows two rules: First, satisfies four components energy distributed feature of GHM multi-wavelet first-order sub-images. That means embedding robust parameters LL1 in, embedding pre-hiding information by RAID4 method in LH1 and HL1 , embedding fragile identifier HH1 in. Second, use two or more annulus to embed data symmetrically. Moreover, using Logistic chaotic map …
