Modified Dynamic Id-Based User Authentication Scheme Resisting Smart-Card-Theft Attack, Toan Thinh Truong, Minh Triet Tran, Anh Duc Duong
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
Wireless environments such as GSM, 3G, and 4G are more and more popular. Consequently, communications in such networks need to be guarded. It is necessary to have a secure mutual authentication scheme to defend transactions between user and service provider against illegitimate adversaries. Especially, users are those vulnerable to attacks and there are many authentication schemes with smart-card proposed to protect them. Recently, Yung-Cheng Lee has suggested a dynamic identity based user authentication scheme to resist smart-card-theft attack. Nevertheless, he assumed that smart-card is tamperproof. In our opinion, this is not appropriate because Kocher and Messerges pointed that smart-card’s confidential …

Generalized System Of Variational Inequalities In Banach Spaces, Abdellah Bnouhachem, Muhammad Aslam Noor, Mohamed Khalfaoui, Hafida Benazza
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
In this paper, we introduce and consider a new system of extended general variational inequalities in Banach spaces. We establish the equivalence between the extended general variational inequalities and the fixed point problems. We use this equivalent formulation to suggest some iterative methods for solving this new system. We prove the convergence analysis of the proposed iterative methods under some suitable conditions. Several special cases, which can be obtained from main results are discussed. The idea and technique of this paper may stimulate further research activities in these fields.

Applications And Spectral Analysis Of Some Optimized High Order Low Dispersion And Low Dissipation Schemes, Appanah Rao Appadu
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
In Appadu(2012d), we have used the technique of Minimized Integrated Exponential Error for Low Dispersion and Low Dissipation, (MIEELDLD) to construct high order methods with low dispersion and low dissipation properties which approximate the 1D linear advection equation. Modifications to the spatial discretisation schemes constructed by Lockard et al. (1995), Zingg et al. (1996) and Bogey and Bailly (2002) have been obtained and also a modification to the temporal scheme developed by Tam et al. (1993) has been devised. These novel methods obtained using MIEELDLD are more effective in terms of shock-capturing properties as they require less number of points …

Solving Fully Fuzzy Linear System With The Necessary And Sufficient Condition To Have A Positive Solution, Ghassan Malkawi, Nazihah Ahmad, Haslinda Ibrahim
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
This paper proposes new matrix methods for solving positive solutions for a positive Fully Fuzzy Linear System (FFLS). All coefficients on the right hand side are collected in one block matrix, while the entries on the left hand side are collected in one vector. Therefore, the solution can be gained with a non-fuzzy common step. The necessary theorems are derived to obtain a necessary and sufficient condition in order to obtain the solution. The solution for FFLS is obtained where the entries of coefficients are unknown. The methods and results are also capable of solving Left-Right Fuzzy Linear System (LR-FLS). To …

Stability Analysis Of A Fractional-Order Differential Equation System Of A Gbm-Is Interaction Depending On The Density, Fatma Bozkurt
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
In this paper, fractional-order is introduced into the interaction model between GBM and IS. GBM (Glioblastoma Multiforme) is a brain tumor, that has a monoclonal origin and produces after reaching a specific density another tumor with different growth rate and treatment susceptibilities. The IS cells are also divided into two populations, namely, the macrophages and the activated macrophages. Hence, this model show two conversions, the conversion from sensitive tumor cell to resistant tumor cell and the conversion from macrophages to active macrophages, and an interaction between the tumor cell and the macrophages. In this work, it is shown that the …

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
In this paper, A Chebyshev spectral method is presented to study the deals with the fractional SIRC model associated with the evolution of influenza A disease in human population. The properties of the Chebyshev polynomials are used to derive an approximate formula of the Caputo fractional derivative. This formula reduces the SIRC model to the solution of a system of algebraic equations which is solved using Newton iteration method. The convergence analysis and an upper bound of the error of the derived formula are given. We compared our numerical solutions with those numerical solutions using fourth-order Runge-Kutta method. The obtained …
Vortex Tangle Dynamics Under The Effect Of Mutual Friction In Superfluid Heii, Sultan Z. Alamri
Vortex Tangle Dynamics Under The Effect Of Mutual Friction In Superfluid Heii, Sultan Z. Alamri
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
We have studied numerically the vortex tangle under both counterflow and attending of mutual friction by using localinduction approximation model (LIA). We find that the vortex lines are grown by the effect of normal fluid velocity in the existence of mutual friction. Many numerical experiments are performed to calculate the vortex filaments development in superfluid helium II. We explained how the total length density, the number of vortex points, the velocity, reconnection events and average inverse radius of curvature are affected by both counterflow and temperature. We find that the vortex rings extend fast and the helical disturbances of vortex …

Yearly Electricity Consumption Forecasting Using A Nonhomogeneous Exponential Model Optimized By Pso Algorithm, Xiaomin Xu, Dongxiao Niu, Ming Meng, Huifeng Shi
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
Yearly electricity consumption trends of most developing countries usually exhibit approximately exponential growth curves. An optimized nonhomogeneous exponential model (ONEM) is proposed as a method of forecasting electricity consumption by using trend extrapolation. The parameters of the nonhomogeneous exponential equation are obtained by using the inverse accumulated generating operation, discretizing the differential equation, minimizing the residual sum of squares (RSS), and accumulating the homogeneous exponential equation. Furthermore, to improve forecasting precision, particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is used to optimize the equation parameters. To evaluate the forecasting performance for comparison, the said model and two other traditional methods are used …

Mathematical Modeling Towards The Dynamical Interaction Of Leptospirosis, Muhammad Altaf Khan, Saeed Islam, Sher Afzal Khan
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
In this work, we extend the mathematical model of leptospirosis disease by taking into account the exposed individuals, the related death rate and the transmission coefficients between susceptible human and infected vector. Initially, we present the local asymptotical stability of both the disease-free and endemic equilibrium. We use the Lyapunov function theory with some sufficient conditions. This shows the global stability of both the disease-free and endemic equilibrium. Further, we present the bifurcation of the model and exhibit that the local asymptotical stability of the disease-free and endemic equilibrium co-exists with the threshold quantity. Finally, we discuss the numerical results.

Dynamic Of Scaled Atomic Phase Entropy Of A Single Two-Level Atom Interaction With Su(1,1) Quantum System, M. M. A. Ahmed, M. Qothamey, S. Abdel-Khalek
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
In this paper, we study the dynamics of the atomic inversion, scaled atomic Wehrl entropy and marginal atomic Q-function for a single two-level atom interacting with SU(1,1) quantum system. We obtain the wave function and system density matrix using specific initial conditions. We examine the effects of different parameters on the scaled atomic Wehrl entropy, atomic Q-function and their marginal distribution. We observe an interesting monotonic relation between the different physical quantities for different values of the initial atomic position and detuning parameter

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
The steady state response of a micropolar liquid saturated porous solid with an overlying elastic half space to a moving point load along the interface has been investigated. The transformed components of displacement, microrotation, force stress (in solid and liquid parts) and couple stress are obtained by using Fourier transformation. These components are then inverted and the results are obtained in the physical domain by applying a numerical inversion technique. The numerical results are depicted graphically for a particular model. Some particular results are also deduced from the present investigation and these deduced results are compared with the already established …

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
In the present investigation we have studied the peristaltic flow of a couple stress fluid in a non-uniform rectangular duct. The flow is investigated in a wave frame of reference moving with the velocity c away from the fixed frame. The peristaltic waves propagating on the horizontal side walls of a non-uniform rectangular duct is studied under lubrication approach. The exact solutions of velocity and pressure gradient have been found under lubrication approach. The pumping characteristics, axial pressure gradient, velocity field and trapping phenomena have been discussed to highlight the physical features of emerging parameters of couple stress fluid.

Linear Recursive Automotive Target Tracking Filter For Advanced Collision Warning Systems, Seul-Ki Han, Won-Sang Ra, Ick-Ho Whang, Jin Bae Park
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
This paper proposes an improved automotive target tracking scheme using FMCWradar which is necessary for the advanced collision warning systems. Since there exist strong nonlinear relationships between the FMCWradar measurements and the target state, the target tracking and data association in dense road clutters have been recognized as a quite challenging problem. It is obvious that the use of accurate range rate measurement might be an excellent choice to improve both target tracking and clutter suppression performances. This motivates us to develop a novel linear recursive automotive target tracking filter based on the measurement conversion in the predicted line-of-sight (LOS) …

Using this concept a condition for a generalized left derivation to be regular is provided. Finally, some results on p-semisimple BCI-algebra are obtained and it is shown that let H be a self map in a p-semisimple BCI-algebra X. Then H is a generalized left derivation if …

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
Recently, a multigranulation rough set (MGRS) has become a new direction in rough set theory, which is different from the Pawlake’s rough set since the former takes multiple granulations on the universe into account. In this paper, by analyzing the limitations of optimistic multigranulation rough set (OMGRS) and pessimistic multigranulation rough set (PMGRS) in incomplete information system, the incomplete variable multigranulation rough set (VMGRS) is proposed, and the relationships among VMGRS, OMGRS and PMGRS are deeply explored, From the properties, it can be found that OMGRS and PMGRS are the special cases compared to our VMGRS. Furthermore, several important measurements …

Features Of Transient Flow During Collapse Of Nuclear Power Pump Cavitation, Rongsheng Zhu, Xiuli Wang, Qiang Fu, Yun Long
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
Collapse of cavitation in flow passage of impeller for centrifugal pump was stimulated by CFX to numerically stimulate internal features of cavitation when pressure at entrance continuing to decline. Results of numerical simulation and tests presented consistent tendency. Cvol in the flow passage of impeller was zero for a while in the occurrence of cavitation collapse and then increased sharply. After reaching a certain value, Cvol began to increase slowly. The amplitudes of head fluctuations increased with decreasing flow within the interval prior to a specific value and then increased with increasing flow.

An Approach For Fuzzy Modeling Based On Self-Organizing Feature Maps Neural Network, Ching-Yi Chen, Jen-Shiun Chiang, Kuang-Yuan Chen, Ta-Kang Liu, Ching-Chang Wong
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
Exploration of large and high-dimensional data sets is one of the main problems in data analysis. Self-organizing feature maps (SOFM) is a powerful technique for clustering analysis and data mining. Competitive learning in the SOFM training process focuses on finding a neuron that its weight vector is most similar to that of an input vector. SOFM can be used to map large data sets to a simpler, usually one or two-dimensional topological structure. In this paper, we present a new approach to acquisition of initial fuzzy rules using SOFM learning algorithm, not only for its vector feature, but also for …

Some Hermitian Dual Containing Bch Codes And New Quantum Codes, Yuena Ma, Fangchi Liang, Luobin Guo
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
Let q=3l+2 be a prime power.Maximal designed distances of imprimitive Hermitian dual containing q2-ary narrow-sense (NS) BCH codes of length n = (q6−1) 3 and n = 3(q2 −1)(q2 +q+1) are determined. For each given n, non-narrow-sense (NNS) BCH codes which achieve such maximal designed distances are presented, and a series of NS and NNS BCH codes are constructed and their parameters are computed. Consequently, many families of q-ary quantum BCH codes are derived from these BCH codes. Some of these quantum BCH codes constructed from NNS BCH codes have better parameters than those quantum BCH codes available in the …
