A Fast Malicious User Detection Scheme Based On Pomdp For Cooperative Spectrum Sensing In Cognitive Radio Networks, Hiep Vu-Van, Insoo Koo

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

Cooperative spectrum sensing (CSS) can improve spectrum sensing accuracy, but it can be injured due to potential attacks from malicious cognitive radio user who reports false sensing results to the fusion center (FC). Many researchers focus on reducing the effect of malicious users on the accuracy of spectrum sensing. A promising method to detect malicious users is to determine their abnormal spectrum sensing behavior. In this paper, we provide a novel malicious users detection scheme for cognitive radio (CR) based on the truth rate of each CU, which is defined as the correlation level between the Markov property of the …

Bayesian Method For Source Local Deduplication In Cloud Backup Services, P. Neelaveni, M. Vijayalakshmi

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

Data deduplication technique is widely deployed in cloud backup storage system to reduce storage space and to minimize the transmission of redundant data for proper utilization of network bandwidth. During cloud backup service, redundancy of typical backup data dominated heavily by duplicate chunks. The intrinsic drawback of this system is detecting the similar chunks. The storage server consists of large volume of chunks, making the duplicate detection process much more complicated which decreases deduplication efficiency and increases deduplication overhead. In this paper we propose Bayesian method for source local deduplication for finding out duplicate chunks. For finding chunk similarity, the learning …

Connected Edge Fixed Monophonic Number Of A Graph, P. Titus, S. Eldin Vanaja

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

For an edge xy in a connected graph G of order p ≥ 3, a set S ⊆V(G) is an xy-monophonic set of G if each vertex v ∈V(G) lies on either an x−u monophonic path or a y−u monophonic path for some element u in S. The minimum cardinality of an xymonophonic set of G is defined as the xy-monophonic number of G, denoted by mxy(G). An xy-monophonic set of cardinality mxy(G) is called a mxy-set of G. A connected xy-monophonic set of G is an xy-monophonic set S such that the subgraph G[S] induced by S is connected. …

G+-Algebra, Filters And Upper Sets, Deena S. Al-Kadi, Rodyna A. Hosny

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

In this paper, a new notion named G+-algebra is introduced as a dual G-algebra. Then the relation between G+-algebra with number of abstract algebras including dual BCK-algebra, implication algebra, BE-algebra and J-algebra is investigated and some properties of G+-algebra are studied. Moreover, a binary relation on G+-algebra is defined and proved that it forms a partially ordered relation. Finally, considering G+-algebra, filters and upper sets are studied and related properties are discussed providing an equivalent condition of a filter and finding the relation between filters and upper sets.

Some Identities With Generalized Hypergeometric Functions, Vasily E. Tarasov Sep 2016

Some Identities With Generalized Hypergeometric Functions, Vasily E. Tarasov

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

In this paper, we consider some identities of a special form of the generalized hypergeometric functions 1F2(a;b, c; z) of real argument z. This special form is important for application in fractional calculus and fractional dynamics. The suggested functions stand out among other generalized hypergeometric functions by the power-law form of its Fourier transforms. Identities for infinite series and integrals, which include these generalized hypergeometric functions, are proved.

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

Petri nets are becoming one of the most important mathematical tools in Computer Science. In this paper we propose a new firing strategy in Petri Nets called a parallel firing strategy and study some mathematical properties of concurrent grammars which are controlled by Petri nets under parallel firing strategies. We propose some modes on this strategy and a notion of concurrent context-free grammar which is a similar to the context-free Petri nets under parallel firing strategy, where parallel firing modes of context-free Petri nets were converted to rule applications in context-free grammars. Moreover, we investigate some their properties.

Influence Of The Kerr-Like And The External Classical Field On The Atom-Field Interaction, M. M. A. Ahmed, M. A. El-Deberky, R. N. Rabea Sep 2016

Influence Of The Kerr-Like And The External Classical Field On The Atom-Field Interaction, M. M. A. Ahmed, M. A. El-Deberky, R. N. Rabea

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

In this communication we study the interaction between a two-level atom and an electromagnetic field in the presence of the classical field and Kerr-like medium. Under a certain condition the system is transformed to the usual Jaynes-Cummings model. The atomic inversion is investigated where the phenomenon of super-structure is reported for a large value of the classical field coupling parameter. Our results show that the information of variance and entropy squeezing beside the purity can be controlled by both of the coupling parameter of the classical field and the Kerr-like medium parameter.

Reviews On Determining The Number Of Clusters, Shuo Xu, Xiaodong Qiao, Lijun Zhu, Yunliang Zhang, Chunxiang Xue, Lin Li

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

Clustering analysis seeks to partition a given dataset into groups or clusters so that the data objects within a cluster are more similar to each other than the objects in different clusters. A very rich literature on clustering analysis has developed over the past three decades. But a crucial question still remains unanswered: how many clusters are contained in the population on earth when only an observed set of samples is available? The goal of this paper is to provide a comprehensive review of approaches on determining the ”correct” number of clusters. In particular, we divide these approaches into three …

Dynamic Monte-Carlo Tree Search Algorithm For Multi-Objective Flexible Job-Shop Scheduling Problem, Chun-Liang Lu, Shih-Yuan Chiu, Jiinpo Wu, Li-Pen Chao

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

Scheduling is a key factor in real-world production management and manufacturing system. The Job-shop Scheduling Problem (JSP) is important in combinatorial optimization and well known as an NP-hard. The Flexible Job-shop scheduling problem (FJSP) is an extension of the JSP, which allows an operation may be processed by any machine from a given set. It is more complex than JSP and quite difficult to achieve an optimal solution with traditional optimization approaches owing to the high computational complexity. The intent of this paper is to develop an efficient Dynamic Monte-Carlo Tree Search model for solving the multi-objective FJSP. First, a …

A Conceptual Data Model For The Automatic Generation Of Data Views, Felix Fernandez-Pena, Pilar Urrutia-Urrutia, Rene Canete, Rolando Acosta-Sanchez, Cornelio Yanez-Marquez, Jyrki Nummenmaa Jul 2016

A Conceptual Data Model For The Automatic Generation Of Data Views, Felix Fernandez-Pena, Pilar Urrutia-Urrutia, Rene Canete, Rolando Acosta-Sanchez, Cornelio Yanez-Marquez, Jyrki Nummenmaa

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

Traditionally, data views are seen as static, syntactically correct, data sets. The semantics of the data is not explicitly encoded in Relational Databases (RDB) but implicitly on the applications. However, the needs to create context-aware browsing methods in changing scenarios are demanding more flexible mechanisms. Data views need to be semantically enriched for capturing the real world changes. In this paper, we evaluate the definition of a conceptual data model for the automatic ontology-based building of data views. Our tests show that our approach increases the flexibility of information systems while decreases their maintenance costs.

The Rotational Motion Of The Electromagnetic Symmetric Rigid Body, T. S. Amer Jul 2016

The Rotational Motion Of The Electromagnetic Symmetric Rigid Body, T. S. Amer

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

In the present article, the rotational motion of a symmetric rigid body (gyro) about a fixed point close to Lagrange’s case is studied. This gyro is acted upon by a perturbing moment vector, a third component of a gyro moment vector, and a variable restoring moment vector. The angular velocity of the gyro is assumed to be sufficiently large, its direction is close to the axis of dynamic symmetry, and the perturbing moments are small as compared to the restoring ones. These conditions permit to introduce a small parameter. Averaged systems of the equations of motion in the first and …

Study On Mold Monitoring System Based On Improved Position Compensation Technique Of Image Processing In Plastic Injection Industry, Yao Junfeng, Huang Zhichao, Zhang Changming, Xie Xiaobiao, Hung Chih-Cheng

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

In plastic injection industry, manual adjustment operation mode is applied for operational workers to prevent mold from sticking together by observing hand-touching approaches, which is characteristic of extremely low efficiency and high labor cost. In this paper we developed an automatic mold monitoring system which reduces the mold repairing cost and increases the mold life time. In plastic injection industries, due to the grate shock of injection molding equipment the Charged Coupled Device (CCD), used for acquiring the images, may shift from its original focused position. This in turn creates a bad pattern matching results and leads to a poor …

In this bioinformatics study we analyzed the functional motifs and structural features of regulatory regions of OPN3, a member of the guanine nucleotide-binding protein (G protein)-coupled receptor super-family, which is involved in cancer and drug resistance. Our analyses showed major differences in the two OPN3 promoters located at the 5’-side of the locus. The analyzed parameter set, structural differences of regulatory sequences dignified by dinucleotide base stacking energy and GC-skew, CpG islands (CGI) and transcription factors binding sites (TFBS) of alternative promoters, showed differences that can be exploited to modulate and/or enhance the expression of OPN3 in human tissues. Further, …

Solution Of Higher-Order, Multipoint, Nonlinear Boundary Value Problems With High-Order Robin-Type Boundary Conditions By The Adomian Decomposition Method, Randolph Rach, Jun-Sheng Duan, Abdul-Majid Wazwaz

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

In this paper, we propose a new modified recursion scheme for the approximate solution of higher-order, multipoint, nonlinear boundary value problems with higher-order Robin-type boundary conditions by the Adomian decomposition method. Our new approach utilizes all of the boundary conditions to derive an equivalent nonlinear Fredholm-Volterra integral equation before establishing the new modified recursion scheme for the solution. We solve several complex numerical examples obtaining a rapidly convergent sequence of analytic functions as the solution. In all cases investigated, we achieved an approximately exponential rate of convergence, thus confirming that only a few terms of the Adomian decomposition series can …

Numerical Analysis For Spread Option Pricing Model In Illiquid Underlying Asset Market: Full Feedback Model, A. R. Yazdanian, Traian A. Pirvu

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

This paper performs the numerical analysis and the computation of a Spread option in a market with imperfect liquidity. The number of shares traded in the stock market has a direct impact on the stock’s price. Thus, we consider a full-feedback model in which price impact is fully incorporated into the model. The price of a Spread option is characterized by a nonlinear partial differential equation. This is reduced to linear equations by asymptotic expansions. The Peaceman-Rachford scheme, as an alternating direction implicit method, is employed to solve the linear equations numerically. We discuss the stability and the convergence of …

Image Encryption Using Chaos-Driven Elliptic Curve Pseudo-Random Number Generators, Omar Reyad, Zbigniew Kotulski, W. M. Abd-Elhafiez

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

Pseudo-random number sequences which using the form of elliptic curves can be generated efficiently in software or hardware by the same methods that are used for the implementation of elliptic curve (EC) public-key cryptosystems. In this paper, we proposed a secure image encryption scheme using key sequences generated from Chaos-Driven Elliptic Curve Pseudo-random Number Generator (C-D ECPRNG). This key sequences derived from random sequences based on EC points operations driven by a chaotic map. These constructions improve randomness properties of the generated sequences since it combines good statistical properties of an ECPRNG and a Chaotic Pseudo-random Number Generator (CPRNG). Entropy …

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

The article aims how to use evolutionary algorithms in solving a set-covering problem. We have focused on the bin packing problem. This problem is known to be NP-hard; hence many heuristic procedures for its solution have been suggested. We propose a new solution of the problem by a genetic algorithm. The included experimental study presents the use of a genetic algorithm to find an optimal layout for the placement of regular patterns of fixed sizes and simple shapes to minimize the waste. This study indicates that genetic algorithms can effectively be used to obtain highly efficient solutions.
