Energy Consumption Balancing In Olsr Ad Hoc Wireless Routing Protocol, Nabil Ghanem, Habiba Belleili

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

The Mobile computer science requires many processing. Besides the communication activities, the energy consumption is one of the most critical issues as far as the batteries mobile devices are concerned. Especially, in ad hoc networks where each node is responsible to transmit data packets for the neighbour nodes. Thus, a particular wariness must be taken not only to minimize all nodes appropriate energy consumption but also to balance the batteries individual levels. Any unbalanced energy usage can, however, cause a failure on one of the overloaded nodes and thus lead to partitioning and decreasing the network lifetime. In the present …

Annular Regions Containing All The Zeros Of A Polynomial Via Special Numbers, Eze R. Nwaeze

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

In this paper, we obtain some results concerning annular regions containing all the zeros of a given polynomial. These annular regions have radii in terms of the Bell numbers, Pell numbers, Stirling numbers, Fibonacci numbers, Motzkin numbers, Catalan numbers, and/or the Schr¨oder numbers. Also, we show, by means of examples, that for some polynomials our results sharpen some of the known results in this direction.

Algebraic Iterative Reconstruction-Reprojection (Airr) Method For High Performance Sparse-View Ct Reconstruction, Ali Pour Yazdanpanah, Emma E. Regentova, George Bebis Sep 2016

Algebraic Iterative Reconstruction-Reprojection (Airr) Method For High Performance Sparse-View Ct Reconstruction, Ali Pour Yazdanpanah, Emma E. Regentova, George Bebis

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

The reconstruction from sparse- or few-view projections is one of important problems in computed tomography limited by the availability or feasibility of a large number of projections. Working with a small number of projections provides a lower radiation dose and a fast scan time, however an error associated with the sparse-view reconstruction increases significantly as the space sparsity increases that may cause the reconstruction process to diverge. The iterative reconstruction-re-projection (IRR) algorithm which uses filtered back projection (FBP) reconstruction has been used for the sparse-view computed tomography applications for several years. The IRR-TV method has been developed as a higher …

Pairing-Friendly Curves With Discrete Logarithm Trapdoor Could Be Useful, Parshuram Budhathoki, Thomas Eisenbarth, Rainer Steinwandt, Adriana Suarez Corona

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

Pairing-friendly curves and elliptic curves with a trapdoor for the discrete logarithm problem are versatile tools in the design of cryptographic protocols. We show that curves having both properties simultaneously enable a non-interactive protocol for identitybased 3-party key distribution and deterministic identity-based signing with “short” signatures. All our protocols are in the random oracle model.

The Differences In The Shape Of Characteristic Curves Of A Column Subjected To Eulers Load Obtained On The Basis Of Bernoulli- Euler And Timoshenko Theories, Sebastian Uzny, Krzysztof Sokol

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

In this paper the formulation of the boundary problem of the natural vibration frequency on the basis of Hamiltons principle with consideration of Timoshenko theory has been presented. The investigated column is loaded by external compressive load with constant line of action (Eulers load). Introduction of discreet elements such as springs on both ends of the column allows one to create the general form of boundary conditions. The proper set of their stiffness corresponds to different boundary conditions. In this study an influence of slenderness and external load as well as boundary condition on the shape of characteristic curves calculated …

Adapted Basic Connections On The Big-Tangent Manifold, Adelina Manea, Cristian Ida

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

In this paper we give local characterisations for basic connections adapted to vertical foliation and subfoliations on the big-tangent manifold T M of a Riemannian space (M,g). Using some associated Vr˘anceanu connections we identify a triple of basic connections adapted to vertical subfoliations. Finally, we give an application of these connections in study of Lagrangians on the big-tangent manifold and also, we write in a simple form the equation of motion for scalar fields on the big-tangent manifold.

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

Scientists have been gaining inspiration from several natural processes and systems to find fine solutions in many complex hard to solve engineering problems for many years now. Nevertheless, most of these natural systems suffer from great amount of time to perform; thus, scientists are seeking for computational tools and methods that could encapsulate in a conscious way nature’s genius, dealing at the same moment with time complexity. In this conquest, Cellular Automata (CA) proposed long time ago by John von Neumann, can be considered as a promising candidate. CA have the ability to capture the essential features of systems in …

Ikeda Map And Phase Conjugated Ring Resonator Chaotic Dynamics, V. Aboites, D. Liceaga, A. Kiryanov, M. Wilson

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

The dynamical behavior of a laser beam confined within a ring-phase-conjugated resonator modeled with a chaos generating element based on the Ikeda map is presented. Using the matrix ray optics, explicit expressions are obtained for the elements of the 2x2 dynamical matrix, which is found in terms of the specific map parameters, state variables and resonator parameters. The phase diagrams obtained show that the so called Ikeda map beams present complex dynamics, including critical points and metastability.

On P-Ary Local Frobenius Rings And Their Homogeneous Weights, Bahattin Yildiz, Makarim Abdlwahed Abdljabbar

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

In this work, a characterization of different properties of p-ary local Frobenius rings and their generating characters is given. Using the generating character, a general form for the homogeneous weights of such rings is described. In particular it is shown that the homogenous weights of all such rings have two non-zero values. Moreover, distance-preserving, linear Gray maps for the homogeneous weights of some classes of p-ary local Frobenius rings are found and using the Gray image, many linear p-ary codes attaining the Griesmer bound are counstructed.

Co-Dynamics Of Trypanosomiasis And Cryptosporidiosis, Kazeem Oare Okosun, Mirirai Mukamuri, Oluwole Daniel Makinde

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

In this paper a mathematical model for trypanosomiasis-cryptosporidium co-infection dynamics is investigated to give a theoretical mathematical account of the impact of cryptosporidiosis on trypanosomiasis dynamics. The model steady states are analyzed. The disease-free equilibrium is shown to be locally asymptotically stable when the associated epidemic basic reproduction number for the model is less than unity. The trypanosomiasis only and the cryptosporidiosis only model are each found to exhibit transcritical and backward bifurcation phenomena respectively. While the co-infection model exhibits the possibility of multiple endemic equilibria. From the sensitivity analysis, the trypanosomiasis reproductive number Rlt 0 is more sensitive to …

Supra Semi Open Soft Sets And Associated Soft Separation Axioms, A. M. Abd El-Latif, Rodyna A. Hosny Sep 2016

Supra Semi Open Soft Sets And Associated Soft Separation Axioms, A. M. Abd El-Latif, Rodyna A. Hosny

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

In this paper, we introduce and investigate some weak soft separation axioms by using the notion of supra semi open soft sets. We study the relationships between these new soft separation axioms and their relationships with some other properties. As a consequence the relations of some supra soft separation axioms are shown in a diagram. We show that, some classical results in general supra topology are not true if we consider supra soft topological spaces instead. For instance, if (X,m,E) is supra soft semi T1-space need not every soft singleton xE is supra semi closed soft.

Unified Fixed Point Theorems On ∈−Chainable Fuzzy Metric Space And Modified Intuitionistic Fuzzy Metric Space, Vishal Gupta, Ashima Kanwar

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

The theory of fuzzy set has been constantly growing by many eminent mathematicians. The core objective of present study is to give a criteria of getting unique fixed point for six mappings on 2 − chainable fuzzy metric space. Here, special attention is paid to using the concept of weakly compatible and continuous mapping on complete fuzzy metric spaces. Moreover, we define the concept of 2 −chain on modified intuitionistic fuzzy metric space (say MIFM-space) . With support of this notion, we ascertain a fixed point result on modified intuitionistic fuzzy metric space. In this paper, we also elongate the …

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

In this paper we present a generalization of Sz´asz operators using the Dunkl generalization of the exponential function. We investigate approximating properties for these operators using the Korovkin approximation theorem and the weighted Korovkin-type theorem. We obtain quantitative estimates by using the modulus of continuity and the rate of convergence for functions belonging to the Lipschitz class. Furthermore, we obtain the rate of convergence in terms of the classical, the second order, and the weighted modulus of continuity.
