Man & The Environment Of The Llanos Orientales Of Colombia, William Watts

The investigation of the problem in this paper dealt with performing an examination of the landscape of the humid tropical wet-dry savanna region of the Llanos of Colombia, in an attempt to record a cultural imprint of man in the twentieth century in that environment. Fieldwork involving two summer traverses of the Llanos yielded an inventory of fresh factual documentation about how man has adapted to and utiliizes this environment.
Implementing the ecosystem concept as expressed by Barrows and Hegen, both man and the physical environment were studied to gain as complete a picture of the Llanos as possible. Data …

Effects Of Internal Imagery & Experimental State On The Performance Of Intercollegiate Smallbore Rifle Shooters, Paul Whitworth

This study was conducted to examine the effects of internal imagery and experiential state on the performance of intercollegiate smallbore rifle shooters. An interaction between internal imagery and experiential state was hypothesized. Subjects included 43 smallbore rifle shooters from 7 universities stratified into 2 groups. Group 1, composed of 23 shooters, received internal imagery instructions and practice time; group 2 received unrelated instructions and an equal amount of practice time. Following the instructional period, a posttest was administered to each group (the NRA/ISU Style 1/2 course on an indoor 50 foot range) and each shooter completed an experiential state measure. …

A Survey Of Health Promotion Activities Of Health Systems Agencies, Norma Schira

The National Health Planning and Resources Development Act. Public Law 93-641, the last major step in the regulation of the health care system, created a network of health system agencies and state level health planning agencies. Subsequent legislation, the Health Planning and Resources Development Amendment 1929, Public Law 96-79, amended 1974 Law and changed the role and function of health systems agencies to include more regulatory activities. By 1981, the activities of Health System Agencies were being curtained by the action of the Reagan administration.

Journal, 27 June 1986 to 7 May 1987, of U.S. Congressman William Huston Natcher while he was representing Kentucky’s 2nd District. The journal includes an almost daily account of Natcher’s reflections on current events and transactions with the U.S. House of Representatives. Many of the entries contain typescripted newspaper articles with some editorial comment provided by Natcher, others are more personal in nature.
