The purpose of the qualitative phenomenological research was to investigate the experiences of young adults raised by one caregiver and how the lack of fathers in the household impacted their decision-making processes concerning engaging in criminal behaviors. The following inquiry guided the research: What are the effects of fatherlessness on decision-making in young adults, and how is it related to criminal behavior? Semi-structured interviews of 15 participants, aged 18 to 26, were used as the primary data collection method. Within counseling supervision relationships, supervisor feedback is an important aspect of counselors-in-training (CIT) development to improve CIT counseling competency and confidence in practice. Effective supervision requires CITs to disclose details about their practice, including counseling approaches, interpretations, challenges, and errors. Prior research has indicated CITs withheld information as often as 97% of the time in some cases. Grounded in a psychoanalytic theoretical foundation, the purpose of this quantitative survey study was to examine if the quality of supervision relationships and CIT resilience predicted CIT willingness to disclose during supervision. The purpose of this qualitative case study was to better understand the holistic and cultural needs in jails to better support incarcerated parents in a rural Western region and to compare the needs to existing programs. The theoretical framework for this study was a program model called the Family Strengthening Project. Data were collected in individual telephone interviews with five professionals with experience working with incarcerated parents and their families in a rural jail and community, including human services practitioners and law enforcement officials. Numerous mindfulness-based interventions have demonstrated significant increases in users’ overall physical and emotional well-being. Often, however, graduate-level instructors believe it would be too time-consuming to incorporate these worthwhile self-care strategies into their curriculum. The aim of this study was to evaluate whether participating in a day of mindfulness-based activities could increase overall mindfulness in graduate students. Intervention activities were focused on creating a safe and focused space, as well as instilling self-compassion, positivity, and gratitude. Twelve female graduate students completed short activities utilizing mandalas, prompts for self-compassion and positivity, and a forgiveness practice. Heart failure (HF) is the primary reason for hospital admissions in the United States, accounting for almost 6.5 million hospital days per year and for 8.5% of cardiovascular deaths. As part of care delivery and supported by the evidence, providers use intake and output (I&O) to guide a HF patient’s overall treatment plan. Following several reviews in the local organization, it was determined that I&O documentation sheets were incomplete or not completed at all.
