Investigations regarding the chemical and milling characteristics of some of the various varieties of wheat grown in the State have been carried on since the season of 1904. This is, however, the first report of the investigations that has been published. The work was started with the hope of assisting in the determination of the varieties of wheat best adapted to the State. While, of course, the variety which does not yield well but which has excellent chemical and milling characteristics is not desirable, yet on the other hand, as has already been so often pointed out, neither is the …

Halictus monstrificus Mor. (temporalis Arnoldi. 1.) Im 5. Jahrgang dieser Zeitschrift, 1905, pg. 145, stellte ich H. monstrificus Mor. als Synonym zu H. sexstrigatus Schck. und bemerkte dort, dass von H. monstrificus bis dahin nur das o' bekannt geworden ware. Damals war mir entgangen, dass das ~ schon 1894 von Arnold in den Horae Soc. Ent. Ross., pg. 165, beschrieben wurde. Im Cataloge von Dalla Torre, pg. 72, wird bei H. morzstrificus Arn. irrtumlich pg. 161 zitiert und leider anzugeben vergessen, dass Arnold ~ und o' beschrieb. Dieser gut beobachtende Autor gab der Art fruher den sehr bezeichnenden Namen H. …

The genus Diomorus ,walker has the mesepisternum deeply incised above the middle and will therefore have to be placed in the Toryminae, where it can be separated from the other genera by the tooth on the hind femora. In his classification of the Chalcidoidea, Dr. Ashmead has used the presence or absence of teeth on the hind femora as a secondary character to separate the Toryminre and the Monodontomerinre. This will have to be dropped or at least modified to show the above exception.
