The Cyclotron An Animated Motion Picture, Oliver A. Livoni

University of the Pacific Theses and Dissertations

The study of the atom received great impetus from the invention of the cyclotron in 1932 by Dr. E. 0. Lawrence of the University of California. In response to this pattern, our paper has several aims. We highlight ways language demands are embedded in drama and theater arts curricula and activities. Second, we describe and analyze ways …

Seeding Shakespeare And Drama In Diverse 21st-Century Classrooms Through A Cross-National Partnership: New Teachers’ Challenges And Early Practices, Steven Z. Athanases, Sergio L. Sanchez

Benerd College Faculty Articles

Classroom drama holds promise for student learning across disciplines. This study documents challenges and opportunities reported by teachers in their first-year teaching as they participated in an innovative cross-national partnership between Globe Education, Shakespeare’s Globe, London and the School of Education, University of California, Davis. Survey results found new teachers’ value exceeded their self-confidence in implementing Shakespeare and drama-based practices in their teaching. Teachers managed to infuse drama activities in classrooms, conducted inquiry into …

The literature reviewed three important areas of study. The first is a review of the systemic challenges that Chicanas must hurdle; cheap labor, segregation of schools and neighborhoods, being silenced through English-only education, and deficit thinking. The second area of review focused on ways that Chicanas create strategies for success to overcome these challenges. The third was a review of the theoretical literature through a distinctly and relevant Chicana feminist lens.

Chicanas’ strategies for success were collected as testimonios. …
