For decades, epic fantasy has been predominantly associated with the Anglo-American tradition, exemplified by authors like J.R.R. Tolkien and Robert E. Howard. However, this perspective neglects the contributions of lesser-known but equally rich traditions, such as Spanish literature. Mariano Martín Rodríguez's Fantasía épica española (1842–1903) seeks to fill this historiographical gap by exploring the Spanish roots of epic fantasy through a theoretical analysis and an anthology of representative texts. This volume not only rescues forgotten works but also redefines critical paradigms to include non-Anglophone perspectives, offering a foundational resource for rethinking the global history of epic fantasy.

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a leading cause of long-term neurological impairment, with aging significantly increasing vulnerability and worsening outcomes. Older individuals experience greater cognitive and motor deficits after TBI and often show diminished responses to therapeutic interventions. Both aging and TBI independently promote heightened neuroinflammation and cognitive dysfunction, increasing susceptibility to poor recovery. This study investigated the therapeutic potential of small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) derived from human adipose-derived stem cells (hASCs) to promote neurological recovery and modulate neuroinflammation in a mouse model of TBI. Apps for our smartphones are ubiquitous. Free apps usually require exchanging personal information. Mobile payments in the U.S. are expected to almost double by 2027. Peer-to-peer (P2P) payment apps are a subcategory of said apps. Venmo is a P2P payment app that gathers user data from their smartphone and publicizes user transactions. Fire has historically been a natural component of Florida’s salt marsh ecosystems, but its implementation and its value as a management tool remain poorly understood. We conducted point counts, monitored nests, and surveyed mammal occupancy in the Apalachicola River Wildlife and Environmental Area and the St. Mark’s National Wildlife Refuge in Florida’s panhandle to better understand the effects of fire on nesting birds and mammals that reside in salt marshes. The present study investigates how three core digital competencies, i.e. digital literacy, platform/tool awareness, and technology readiness, influence employability readiness among two key groups including final-year tourism students and in-service professionals. Drawing on Human Capital Theory and the Technology Readiness Index, the research applies Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) to examine 350 responses collected through purposive sampling. Applying the Conservation of Resources Theory and the Affective Event Theory, this study explores the interplay between perceived manager support (PMS), negative emotions, and emotional exhaustion among hotel supervisors. The study also examines the moderating role of cognitive reappraisal strategy on the above relationships. Data were collected from a sample of U.S. hotel supervisors. Results showed that negative emotions play a mediating role in the relationship between PMS and supervisors’ emotional exhaustion.
