What was it like to have come of age after the Glorious Thirty (1945-1975), an era Jack Metzger (2016; 2021a) describes as a time when the working-class bettered their lives? I had the misfortune to have worked in several Metropolitan Detroit factories during the period of decline after the Glorious Thirty. During that time, I witnessed what the journalist George Packer (2013) has called ‘the Unwinding,’ the unraveling of the social contract that has left the working class to their own devices to find success and salvation. Periodization, the belief that God has divided history into fixed segments of time, frequently appears in Second Temple Period Jewish literature. It is especially popular in the Qumran texts, whose authors often display an interest in apocalyptic historiography to explain and categorize historical occurrences. The writers of the Dead Sea Scrolls frequently use periodization to uncover and comprehend historical events. These writings often couple this doctrine with apocalyptic eschatology, specifically the use of Scripture to organize history into discrete historical periods to calculate the end of days. The COVID-19 pandemic prompted chaotic changes in the daily lives of K-12 teachers, resulting in increased stress and other mental health problems. Limited evidence regarding the relationship between physical activity, sleep, and perceived stress among teachers during the COVID-19 pandemic exists. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the association between physical activity, sleep quality, and perceived psychological stress among teachers during the COVID-19 pandemic. An online survey measuring physical activity, sleep quality, and perceived psychological stress was distributed across 47 US states between September and October of 2020. Oceans governance occurs through overlapping, multi-level institutions that often fail to recognize Indigenous sovereignty and self-determination. The International Whaling Commission (IWC) provides pathways for recognizing Indigenous rights. However, observed power asymmetries and cross-level local to international conflicts threatened subsistence rights and generated research and advocacy fatigue for Chukchi, Iñupiat, Saint Lawrence Island Yupik, and Siberian Yupik communities in the USA and Russia. We conduct an institutional analysis of Indigenous bowhead whaling governance based upon lived experiences of Indigenous authors, primary documents from co-management organizations, national agencies, the IWC, and extant literature. Marketers always incline to deliver advertising messages to the right consumer at the right time. Yet, the question of when exactly should such a persuasive message be sent to a consumer remains elusive in the existing literature. The current study aims to address this research question within the theoretical framework of contextual marketing. The authors argue that contextual information such as time and weather can be used to design more effective mobile advertising campaigns on social media. The results of a field experiment in cooperation with a local restaurant suggest that ads delivered at consumers’ pre-decision stage (i.e., non-meal time) …

Currently, concussions cannot be diagnosed by using imaging or laboratory tests. They can only be diagnosed by examining a patient and determining what their symptoms are compared to the symptoms that were or were not experienced before the patient was injured. If functional near-infrared spectroscopy can accurately detect the changes in brain hemodynamics after mild traumatic brain injury, it would allow athletic trainers and other health care professionals the ability to provide a more concrete diagnosis for the patient. William Milton Cooper was a radio show host, author, and conspiracy theorist. Among other things, Cooper claimed insider knowledge of a plot, guided by an ancient Luciferian religious order, to consolidate nations into a socialist New World Order. Although currently unexamined in academia, Cooper’s conspiratorial influence can be found everywhere from the Oklahoma City Bombing to contemporary false flag accusations to QAnon mythology. While this influence includes shared content, Cooper’s approach to evidence, persona, and narrative framing demand attention in a world of increasingly visible conspiracy discourse. This thesis project explores the role of voice in Black social movements in the context of US labor history. This project aims to examine three distinct spaces from 1928-1949 under the lens of struggle, versus a narrative of linear progress. This thesis argues that the social and economic conditions of these Black working class spaces have been filtered through White interpretations. This thesis seeks to build upon the historical methods and framework of Robin D.G. Kelley and Michel-Rolph Trouillot to interpret the records of these spaces beyond their surface values. Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder (NMOSD) Is a rare and widely unknown disease, often resulting in misdiagnosis and nonproductive therapy. It is a relapsing inflammatory demyelinating disease that affects the central nervous system and attacks the brain, resulting in severe physical &/or visual disability (Pfeuffer et al., 2017). What little knowledge we have about NMOSD, we hold an even smaller amount about its effects on speech and communication; which is what this case history study aims to answer. This presentation will address the six dimensions of access that impact services provided in university-sponsored clinics across the United States. The concept of access has been widely studied in health care literature but has not been examined in the service delivery model of on-campus speech, language, and hearing clinics. The Kamchatka Peninsula in the Russian Far East was one of the last territories to become part of Russia during its colonization of Siberia. Here Russians came into contact with its Indigenous peoples - nomadic Koryaks and settled Itelmens. Just like other Indigenous peoples of Russia and the rest of the world, they faced the terrible consequences of colonization. They were forcibly baptized, Russified and expelled from their ancestral territories. Nowadays, Indigenous knowledge here is largely forgotten. This study will attempt to help the Indigenous peoples of Kamchatka repatriate this knowledge by focusing on geographic knowledge, mainly among the Itelmens. …
