In the decade of the 80's and beyond, a simple, yet significant fact of education remains. The classroom learning success of most students has been, is, and will continue to be directly related to their listening attitudes and behaviors! Furthermore, all teachers, administrators, and parents are in an immediate and critical position to positively impact on students' listening/learning experience.

This independent study module is intended to introduce business administration students and managers to business information available in books; periodicals; and other library sources; and to teach library search strategies for the acquisition of needed information with a minimum expenditure of time. The module consists of six parts. The first three begin with specific objectives and end with exercises on locating books on business topics using (1) the card catalog; (2) indexes and abstracts; and (3) general business reference works. The Generalization Of The Reduction Of Stopping To Untrained Phonemes Following Syllable Practice, Lynn K. Grimes

This investigation was concerned with the generalization which occurred from trained to untrained phonemes in which the process of stopping was operating. Two male subjects aged 5-3 and 4-0, who used the process of stopping, were chosen for this study on the basis of an examination of their articulation errors and the results of ten 15- word deep tests. A 48-item probe test, to assess the frequency of stopping for selected phonemes, was administered three times to establish baseline. Recent studies have shown that children spend much more time watching television then they do reading. For thousands of children in the middle school years, the reading of literature is fast becoming the lost art of the affective domain. This paper is a descriptive study of the methods employed by teachers of the middle school to take advantage of the popularity of audiovisual materials to motivate children in the reading of literature.

The Effect Of Mood Induction On The Creativity Of First-Grade Students, Rita Ann Jensen

This study was designed to evaluate the effect of mood induction on the creativity of first‑grade students. It examined whether students who reported being in a happy mood scored higher on measures of creative ability than students who reported being in a sad mood. Two hypotheses related to mood’s effect on creativity were tested. Hypothesis 1: There is no difference between the pretest figural creativity scores and posttest figural creativity scores of first‑grade students exposed to happy mood induction and those exposed to sad mood induction. A Calcium-Phosphate-Phospholipid Complex Extracted From Rats Exhibiting Calciphylactic Nephrocalcinosis, Elaine Bardes Haynes

Calciphylactic nephrocalcinosis was induced in female Sprague Dawley rats by treatment with dihydrotachysterol (0.5 mg/100g body weight) and thallous acetate (2 mg/100 g body weight). A calcium-phosphatephospholipid complex was isolated from rat kidneys exhibiting calciphylactic nephrocalcinosis and from untreated controls. There was a statistically significant greater quantity of complex extractable after calciphylaxis was induced. An average of 8.0% of the total phospholipid extracted from the tissue was present in complexed form in treated animals and 3.7 % in control animals. The phospholipid component of the complex was identified as phosphatidyl serine. The ratio of calcium to phosphate was less than …

The science of hole making can hardly be considered new to modern day industry. Evidence of drilling dates back as early as 4000 B.C. However, computers are considered relatively new to industry and their use is growing rapidly. One of the major concerns of industry is to identify a consistent method of selecting the proper drill when given a set of variables. The problem is to identify the sets of variables and select a drill that will give consistent results.
