The Differentiation Of Mercury Species In Submicrogram Quantities In Aqueous Solution, David A. Hildebrand

Although trace analysis procedures for the analysis of total mercury have been available for a number of years, a major shortcoming of the procedures has been the inability to differentiate between the exact chemical forms of mercury species in solution. This is needed due to the varlng toxicity of the different species. An investigation was made of the possible analytical procedures which could be used for a separation and quantitation of mercury (0), mercury(I), mercury(II), methyl- and phenylmercury(II). The method of flameless atomic absorption spectroscopy (PAA) was used to detect mercury vapor produced by reduction of all mercury species or …

Pinnated Grouse (Tympanuchus Cupido Pinnatus) Movements And Habitat Utilization In The Northern Great Plains, Jeffrey P. Jorgenson

This paper discusses habitat availability and utilization and population changes of pinnat ?d grouse in the northern great plains. Three aspects of grouse ecology were examined in Grand Forks County, North Dakota, and Polk County, Minnesota, during March 197^ to March 1976: (1) habitat types of specific management units and the surrounding area, (2) past and present population levels and distribution within the study areas, and (3) spring home ranges, habitat utilization, and dispersal from the booming ground by males.
