Protective Factors For Suicidal Ideation In Transgender Adults Living In Rural Communities, Genel Gronkowski
Protective Factors For Suicidal Ideation In Transgender Adults Living In Rural Communities, Genel Gronkowski
Theses and Dissertations
Transgender adults living in rural communities within the USA may be at an increased risk for suicidal ideation compared to their cisgender peers. Meyer’s Minority Stress Model postulates that this may be due to unique stressors that result from a minoritized identity that may lead to poor mental health outcomes, such as suicidal ideation; individual and community level protective factors may buffer or protect from poor health outcomes. The purpose of this study is to identify protective factors that may be unique to transgender adults experiencing suicidal ideation in rural communities. Utilizing a grounded theory approach, a homogenous group of …

Prosocial behavior is a widely researched area of social psychology. It can be defined as the voluntary actions performed with the goal of benefiting others. This concept of helping others includes a wide range of actions, from simple acts such as holding the door open for someone to larger acts like donating money to charity (Peetz & Howard, 2022). This chapter will explore the topic of prosocial behavior by identifying the main types of prosocial behavior and the measure used to assess them, explaining the motivation behind prosocial behavior, and discussing various benefits and counterarguments to prosocial behavior.
Constructing And Understanding Angler License Typologies And Response To Landscape Change, Michael James Lant
Constructing And Understanding Angler License Typologies And Response To Landscape Change, Michael James Lant
Theses and Dissertations
The future of conservation could hinge entirely on voluntary contributions of individualsand their relationship with landscape features. Conservation funding is becoming increasingly unstable, shifting from large non-governmental organizations to voluntary user-pay funded organizations. At the same time the natural world is experiencing dramatic changes, such as the global extinction crisis and widespread loss of biodiversity. User-pay-experience models, such as recreational fishing in North Dakota, are challenged by the uncertainty surrounding angler participation and license sales. Our objectives were to 1) investigate license purchasing dynamics among resident North Dakota recreational anglers to reveal potential angler license typologies, 2) compare trip-related behavior …

Usda Wildlife Services Management Efforts At The Grand Forks Wastewater Treatment Plant, Dorothy Celeste Daulton
Theses and Dissertations
Wildlife collisions with aircraft (wildlife strikes) are a costly and dangerous issue. In recent decades, wildlife strikes within airport boundaries have decreased partly due to on-airfield wildlife strike mitigation efforts. Landscape attractants surrounding airfields within an 8 km radius have been found to influence the occurrence of wildlife strikes by increasing wildlife presence and abundance on or near airfields. The effectiveness of mitigation efforts can be increased by extending operations to include landscape features in an 8 km radius from airports. However, not much is known about the long-term effects of wildlife strike mitigation operations when conducted on neighboring properties, …

Theodore Roosevelt National Park (TRNP) manages a herd of feral horses (Equus caballus) which was present on the landscape prior to the establishment of the park. The population presents a unique scenario in that it has experienced fairly intensive and well-documented management since the park's establishment, including herd size reductions, intentional introduction of diversity, and subsequent attempts to remove introduced lineages. This provides an interesting case study on the genetic effects of diverse evolutionary forces on an isolated feral population. To explore the effects of these forces and clarify the relationship of this feral herd with other horses, …

Minimally Invasive Therapies In The Treatment Of Arthropathy, Steven Bateman
Physician Assistant Scholarly Project Papers
It is estimated that 27% of adults over 45 years of age suffer from osteoarthritis of the hip secondary to articular cartilage damage over the lifespan. Joint pain diminishes life quality, limits range of motion and overall activity, and frequently impairs basic ambulation. These functional deficits worsen the progression of comorbidities that are often referred to as lifestylerelated chronic disease as physical activity subsequently declines. This literature review explores the efficacy of minimally invasive therapies that precede and delay surgical intervention in adult patients experiencing functional limitations and pain in major joints. The study examines the effectiveness of various interventions, …
