Advancing Influence In Social Networks Based On Game Theory, Adedamola Adesokan Jun 2024

Advancing Influence In Social Networks Based On Game Theory, Adedamola Adesokan

Electrical and Computer Engineering ETDs

Online Social Networks (OSNs) have become part of our everyday life, as a means of interacting with people, sharing content, attending events, etc. Influencers are professional OSN users, who have a large loyal audience and use the OSNs to market various goods or services based on brand partnerships. In this thesis, we introduce a novel mechanism to enable OSN users to become influencers by strategically deciding their activity within the OSN. Initially, the concepts of social coordinates and social communities are proposed. Then, a non-cooperative game is introduced to enable the users to make optimal decisions regarding their activity in …

Working With Bilingual Populations: Clinical Practices Of Speech-Language Pathologists In New Mexico, Wylie L. Skillman Jun 2024

Working With Bilingual Populations: Clinical Practices Of Speech-Language Pathologists In New Mexico, Wylie L. Skillman

Speech and Hearing Sciences ETDs

New Mexico is uniquely positioned as a state that has more bilingual speakers than the United States on average, meaning that Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) here are more likely to work with bilingual speakers than elsewhere. Best practices for bilingual evaluation and treatment are taught in graduate education for SLPs but the extent to which they are known and utilized by school-based SLPs differs based on many factors.

As the body of research supporting culturally responsive bilingual assessment and intervention continue to grow, it is unknown how or if clinicians are using this knowledge to assess and treat students who …

Metagenomic Analysis Of Antarctic Microbial Communities, David Michael Robinson

Biology ETDs

The research presented in this dissertation focuses on microbial roles in biogeochemical cycling in Antarctic aquatic environments. The major objective of my research was to examine the impact of biotic and abiotic pressures on nutrient cycling in microbially dominated systems. I used three perennially ice covered lakes in the McMurdo Dry Valleys (MDVs) along with subglacial lakes Whillans and Mercer as natural case studies. The MDVs are located in Victoria Land, East Antarctica and have been studied since 1993 as part of the McMurdo Long Term Ecological Research Project. Viruses in the MDVs were shown to be seasonally abundant and …

Deep Learning Framework For Graph-Based Molecular Drug Discovery, Daniel Manu Jun 2024

Deep Learning Framework For Graph-Based Molecular Drug Discovery, Daniel Manu

Electrical and Computer Engineering ETDs

This dissertation proposes the GraphGANFed framework, which combines Graph Convolutional Networks (GCN), Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN), and Federated Learning (FL) to generate novel molecules while preserving data privacy. FL allows learning from distributed clients without sharing local datasets, GCN extracts molecular structural properties, and GAN generates new molecules retaining the learned properties. Extensive simulations on three benchmark datasets show GraphGANFed's effectiveness, producing molecules with high novelty (≈ 100) and diversity (> 0.9). Results indicate a trade-off among evaluation metrics, and the right dropout ratio avoids mode collapse. Additionally, Conditional GraphGANFed (cGraphGANFed) incorporates a critic network from Reinforcement Learning (RL) to …

Determining The Cerebellum’S Functional Role In Adolescent Reward Processing, Teagan Mullins Jun 2024

Determining The Cerebellum’S Functional Role In Adolescent Reward Processing, Teagan Mullins

Psychology ETDs

Cerebellar contributions to adolescent reward processing have not been explored in prior research, despite the fact that both reward processing and the cerebellum are undergoing significant maturation during this time. Reward processing in the cerebellum has been found in both adults and in animal models. However, given both maturational changes and a variety of reward related psychopathology that emerges during adolescence, reward processing in the cerebellum during adolescence may not mirror that of the cerebellum during adulthood and may shift over adolescence and be linked to psychopathology. This dissertation reviews the existing literature on cerebellar reward in adolescence (chapter one). …

On The Special Gamma Function Over The Complex Two-Fold Algebras, Nabil Khuder Salman Jun 2024

On The Special Gamma Function Over The Complex Two-Fold Algebras, Nabil Khuder Salman

Neutrosophic Sets and Systems

The concept of special functions plays an important role in mathematical analysis and physics as well. In this paper, we study some different types of the special Gamma function defined on the two-fold fuzzy complex field, where we combine the classical Gamma function with the two-fold fuzzy algebra defined on complex numbers. On the other hand, many elementary properties of this new special function will be determined in terms of theorems and proofs.

An Integrated Codas Method And Novel Surface-Based Weighted Distance Measures Under Neutrosophic Environment, Madineh Farnam, Gholam Hassan Shirdel, Majid Darehmiraki Jun 2024

An Integrated Codas Method And Novel Surface-Based Weighted Distance Measures Under Neutrosophic Environment, Madineh Farnam, Gholam Hassan Shirdel, Majid Darehmiraki

Neutrosophic Sets and Systems

Information theory provides suitable tools for solving practical problems, particularly multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) problems under neutrosophic environments. Generally, a wide range of MCDM solution methods are constructed based on distance measures category. The defined distance measures for continuous neutrosophic numbers, especially its trapezoidal type, is very limited rather than discrete type. The main goals of this study is to come up with a way to add two new types of weighted distance measures based on meaningful surfaces: Euclidean and Hamming. To define these measures, all three components of the neutrosophic trapezoidal fuzzy number (truth, indeterminacy, and falsity membership functions) have …

A Hybrid Approach To Micro Vague Topological Space Via Neutrosophic Topological Space, Vargees Vahini T, Trinita Pricilla

Neutrosophic Sets and Systems

Plenty of topologists are exploring and discovering multiple forms of topological spaces. The chief objective of the current enquiry is to establish and evaluate an original hybrid topological space named Neutro sophic Micro Vague Topological Space. When contrasted with distinctive fuzzy sets, Neutrosophic Micro Vague sets give more adaptive framework for dealing with uncertainties and obscurity because they allow more nuanced portrayal of the multitude of the elements of inconsistencies. Some of the basic definitions and operations on Neutrosophic Micro Vague Sets are defined and examined with numerical examples. Furthermore, some of the basic algebraic properties of Neutrosophic Micro Vague Sets …

Neutrosophic Ranked Set Sampling Scheme For Estimating Population Mean: An Application To Demographic Data, Rajesh Singh, Anamika Kumari Jun 2024

Neutrosophic Ranked Set Sampling Scheme For Estimating Population Mean: An Application To Demographic Data, Rajesh Singh, Anamika Kumari

Neutrosophic Sets and Systems

The primary goal of this study is to address the limitations of classical statistics in handling am biguous or indeterminate data. The best alternative to classical and fuzzy statistics for handling such data uncertainty is neutrosophic statistics, which is a generalization of both. A generalization of classical statistics, neutrosophic statistics addresses hazy, ambiguous, and unclear information. To achieve this, this manuscript recommends the neutrosophic ranked set sampling approach. We have introduced neutrosophic estimators for estimating the mean of the finite population using auxiliary information under neutrosophic ranked set sampling to address the challenges of estimation of the population mean of …

Neutrosophic Sets and Systems

The best way to deal with complicated life scenarios that accompany the decision-making process is to update previous concepts constantly. Therefore, researchers must constantly discover powerful mathematical tools that suit the accompanying circumstances. In this regard, we combine both soft set, neutrosophic set, and interval setting under Q-two-dimensional universal information to introduce a new hybrid innovative model called interval valued-Q-neutrosophic soft sets. The core goal of this model is to keep the features of previous models like soft sets, neutrosophic sets, and Q-Fuzzy sets in dealing with the lack of uncertainty and neutrality associated with real-life issues. This new approach …
