2000 Amendments To Colorado Utes Settlement Act Of 1988, United States 106th Congress
Native American Water Rights Settlement Project
Federal Legislation: Colorado Ute Indian Water Rights Settlement Act Amendments of 2000 in Consolidated Appropriations Act of Dec. 21, 2001 (PL 106-554, Appendix D, Title III, 114 Stat. 2763A-258 ). The timetable set forth in the Settlement Agreement has not been met. The irrigation water provisions cannot be met due to Endangered Species Act, biological opinions and Federal Water Pollution Control Act requirements which reduce the amount that can be drawn from the Animas and La Plata Rivers. Coccidia (Apicomplexa: Eimeriidae) Of The Mammalian Order Lnsectivora, Donald W. Duszynski, Steve J. Upton
Special Publications
The coccidia (protistan phylum Apicomplexa Levine, 1970) comprise a large group of obligate intracellular parasites commonly found in all classes of vertebrate hosts and in some invertebrates. This review focuses on those species within the Eimeriidae because they are among the most prevalent and speciose of all parasite groups, and there is no taxonomic summation currently available for those species that infect insectivores. All published species descriptions in the genera Cyclospora, Eimeria and Isospora that infect insectivores are reviewed and evaluated. Some of the named species are invalid, either because rules concerning the naming of new species (International Code of …

Indian Law And The Rhetoric Of Race: Uses Of Blood Quantum To Reorganization, Paul Spruhan
Indian Law And The Rhetoric Of Race: Uses Of Blood Quantum To Reorganization, Paul Spruhan
Student Thesis Honors (1996-2008)
This paper traces the development of the use of blood quantum in federal law and policy up to the critical transition of the Indian Reorganization Act of 1934. The decisions of the federal government to use or not use blood quantum as a method of classification demonstrate some of the inherent contradictions in federal Indian law. For the sake of bureaucratic and legal clarity, the federal government adapted a system previously …

Chemical Treatment Of Sex Offenders, Cherylinn Gunning
Chemical Treatment Of Sex Offenders, Cherylinn Gunning
Student Thesis Honors (1996-2008)
Recently, several states have passed legislation allowing or directing state officials to impose treatment, sometimes referred to as chemical castration, on particular classes of sex offenders. Several other states have attempted to pass similar legislation. Such legislation raises multiple intricate issues including the efficacy of the treatment, the responsibilities of medical professionals implementing the provisions of the statutes, and the constitutionality of the statutes. This comment addresses several of the legal and ethical issues surrounding state legislation that requires chemical treatment of sex offenders as a condition of their release from incarceration. The first section will set out basic information …
