Empowering Guideline Searching With Guidelines Resources, Evelyn Wang

HSLIC Faculty and Staff Instructional Resources

This workshop presentation, "Empowering Guideline Searching with Guidelines Resources," provides a comprehensive overview of major resources and effective strategies for locating clinical practice guidelines. The session introduces key platforms-including ECRI Guidelines Trust, Guideline Central, PubMed, and CINAHL-and demonstrates how to leverage professional society websites and Google search techniques to access authoritative, evidence-based guidelines. Attendees learn to compare resource features, apply advanced search filters, and ensure access to the most current recommendations for clinical decision-making. The presentation also highlights integration with HSLIC resources and support for point-of-care use.

Se verán de manera general los géneros musicales mexicanos, y las maneras en que promueven convivencia y un sentido de pertenencia e identidad de man era transnacional. Se verán, también, los retos que algunas comunidades enfrentan para mantener sus lazos identitarios.

Eviction Sealing: A Lifeline In The Fight For Housing Justice, Allison Freedman

In January 2023, the White House released a Blueprint for a Renters Bill of Rights. The Blueprint called for immediate sealing of eviction case filings to reduce the likelihood that tenants would be locked out of future housing opportunities without the chance to defend themselves. Shortly thereafter, the Federal Trade Commission and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau issued a request for public comment on how the use of eviction records and screening algorithms may affect tenant housing opportunities and drive discriminatory outcomes. The prevalence of Online Social Networks has completely changed how individuals communicate and cooperate. This dissertation explores the integration of intelligent crowdsourcing mechanisms into OSNs, focusing on game theory, reinforcement learn- ing, and social network dynamics to enhance the allocation of tasks, participation by users, and distribution of rewards. It proposes several models that utilize trust- based models, hedonic coalition games, and influencer dynamics for optimization of crowdsourcing. The major challenges to be addressed include task selection, reward distribution, and incentivizing participation, taking into consideration aspects re- lated to social influence, trust, and user engagement. The ATP-dependent chromatin remodeler Cockayne syndrome protein B (CSB) is essential for maintaining genome integrity. Mutations in CSB are the primary cause of Cockayne syndrome (CS), a premature aging disorder with severe sun sensitivity and neurodevelopmental symptoms. However, the precise mechanisms underlying the disease etiology remain poorly understood. Given the critical roles of oxidative stress in aging and neurodegenerative disorders, this research sought to determine the mechanisms of CSB’s functions in oxidative DNA damage repair.

In recent years, an increasing number of Hispanic Catholic New Mexicans have discovered that they descend from Iberian Jewish victims of the Spanish Inquisition. For some, this new information has prompted them to identify as Jewish in various ways. However, many have faced considerable difficulty in gaining recognition of their newfound ethnoreligious ancestry among family members, normative Jewish communities, and the Spanish and Portuguese governments that offered reparative citizenship to Sephardic (Iberian Jewish) descendants. In this ethnographic context, this dissertation explores how shifting understandings of religious identity and ancestral pasts affect identification practices in the present. In this age of electronic warfare, directed energy research is of utmost importance to ensure national security, robust military defense systems and gain a competitive edge in research worldwide. This thesis explores the intentional directed energy impacts on electro-optic devices by developing analytical predictive models through experimental data validation. An electro-optic modulator known as Mach-Zehnder modulator (MZM) is used to understand the implications of intentional EMI. A low frequency RF signal is injected in the MZM to create an EMI environment. A Navajo Corpus of Historical Narratives

The Navajo Corpus of Historical Narratives is a digital compilation of morphologically annotated narratives. They were first published by Robert W. Young and William Morgan in the 1950’s in the volumes Navajo Historical Selections (1954) and The Trouble at Round Rock (1952). Nine out of 28 narratives are included in the corpus, totaling over 10,000 Navajo words. The corpus contributes to the understanding of the Navajo language by offering interlinear glosses of words, morphemes, morphs, and a free translation. These different interlinear tiers bridge the gap between the original Navajo text and the free translation provided by Young and Morgan, …

First-generation students (FGS) are a population that has received increasing attention, but the term has been inconsistently defined. Such inconsistency creates challenges not only for research, but for students themselves, many of whom may find they meet the FGS definition in one institutional context, but not another. In this study, we analyze how the term first-generation student is defined on the public websites of colleges and universities in the United States and Canada and discuss implications for students and academic libraries.
