SWMU 76 - Mixed Waste Landfill - Corrective Action
The Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE) and Sandia Corporation (Sandia) submitted a request for a Class 3 Modification to Module IV of Hazardous Waste Permit NM5890110518-1 (the Permit). DOE and Sandia are requesting that the New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) designate solid waste management unit (SWMU) 76 as approved for Corrective Action Complete status. NMED made a preliminary determination in October 2014 that corrective action is complete at this SWMU. SWMU 76, known as the Mixed Waste Landfill (MWL), is a 2.6-acre site at Sandia National Laboratories, located on Kirtland Air Force Base immediately southeast of Albuquerque, New …

Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation In Cervical Dystonia: Effect Of Site And Repetition In A Randomized Pilot Trial, Sarah Pirio Richardson, Sule Tinaz, Robert Chen
Neurology Research and Scholarship
Dystonia is characterized by abnormal posturing due to sustained muscle contraction, which leads to pain and significant disability. New therapeutic targets are needed in this disorder. The objective of this randomized, sham-controlled, blinded exploratory study is to identify a specific motor system target for non-invasive neuromodulation and to evaluate this target in terms of safety and tolerability in the cervical dystonia (CD) population. Eight CD subjects were given 15-minute sessions of low-frequency (0.2 Hz) repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) over the primary motor cortex (MC), dorsal premotor cortex (dPM), supplementary motor area (SMA), anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) and a sham …

Law of the Rio Chama
Over the past forty years, environmental trading systems have emerged as one of the primary innovations of American environmental law. In fields ranging from climate change mitigation to wetlands protection, regulated entities may now proceed with otherwise proscribed activities in return for providing extra protection at some other place or time. At their best, these trades achieve environmental goals while increasing flexibility and lowering the economic costs of regulation. In practice, that promise has not always been achieved, and the emergence of environmental trading systems has at times been quite controversial. But they have become increasingly persuasive.

Sex, Violence And The Female Sex Offender, Christine Romero-Debell
Individual, Family, and Community Education ETDs
A female sex offender is any female who engages in criminal sexual penetration, and/or criminal sexual contact with a minor and is charged with a criminal offense within a court of law (New Mexico Statutes and Court Rules, Unannotated, 2012) Early research purports that there is a high prevalence of male sex offenders in comparison to the low prevalence of female sex offenders. A large body of research focuses on male sex offenders but it is problematic to generalize the results of these studies to women sex offenders (Vandiver & Walker, 2002; Wijkman, Bijleveld, & Hendricks, 2010). The gap in …

An Assessment Of Health Insurance Features As Predictors Of Colorectal Cancer Screening, Alex L. Woersching
Pharmaceutical Sciences ETDs
Health insurance design influences whether a person will receive health services, including colorectal cancer (CRC) screening, although how insurance design influences utilization is not fully explained. By disaggregating types of insurance into discrete organizational and financial features, specific influential factors may be identifiable. This study evaluated insurance features as predictors of CRC screening using data from the 2009, 2010, and 2011 Medical Expenditure Panel Survey. Studied insurance features included three organizational features: whether a persons insurance defined a provider network (DPN), used gatekeeping, and restricted coverage to a DPN; and two financial features: whether a person had a Flexible Spending …
