Return To Normalcy In Nh: Economic Optimism, Less Covid-19 Stress & Mask Usage Drops 6/24/2021, Unh Survey Center
All UNH Survey Center Polls
Granite Staters are more confident that the state will recover economically from the pandemic soon. Mask usage in the state has declined considerably since May, but those who are vaccinated remain more likely than those who are not vaccinated to say they still wear a mask. A majority of New Hampshire residents say they are experiencing low levels of stress from the COVID-19 pandemic, dramatically lower than the high levels of stress seen last year.

Sununu Still Popular; Granite Staters Oppose Critical Race Theory Ban, Divided On 24-Week Abortion Ban 6/23/2021, Unh Survey Center
All UNH Survey Center Polls
Approval of Governor Chris Sununu's overall job performance and his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic remain high in New Hampshire. Half of Granite Staters oppose a ban on "critical race theory" in the state, with most Democrats adamantly opposed but a majority of Republicans and Independents supporting such a ban. State residents are about evenly divided in their opinion of a ban on abortion after twenty-four weeks.

Half Of New Hampshire Residents Buy Local Farm Food At Least A Few Times A Month, But Engagement Varies By County, Jess Carson, Analena Bruce, Isaac Leslie
Carsey Publications
Getting local farm food to customers in ways that make financial and logistical sense for both farmers and consumers has long challenged the growth of direct-to-consumer sales. And despite a surge of interest in local foods spurred by the pandemic, there have been few data sources available to farmers and local food advocates for measuring consumers’ contemporary engagement with local food systems and market types.
In this brief, Jess Carson, Analena Bruce, and Isaac Leslie describe data collected in the May 2021 Granite State Poll and find that while more than 80 percent of Granite Staters report buying local farm …

Elite Cues And The Rapid Decline Of Trust In Science Agencies On Covid-19, Lawrence C. Hamilton, Thomas G. Safford
Elite Cues And The Rapid Decline Of Trust In Science Agencies On Covid-19, Lawrence C. Hamilton, Thomas G. Safford
Faculty Publications
The COVID-19 pandemic has been marked by political divisions in US public trust of scientists. Such divisions are well known on other science topics, but regarding COVID-19 they arose suddenly, with disastrous results. Public distrust of scientists has been variously explained in terms of conflicts with belief systems, psychology, peer influences, or communication from elites. Three surveys conducted from March to July 2020 in the US state of New Hampshire observed changing perceptions on COVID-19, providing a test of alternative explanations. Over this period trust in science agencies such as the CDC for information on the coronavirus fell dramatically among …

Emodnet Bathymetry Services And Free And Open-Source Software In Support Of Hydrographic Survey Procedures, Jose Cordero, Christos Kastrisios
Center for Coastal and Ocean Mapping
Bathymetric data collection in hydrographic and marine geophysical surveys is mostly achieved by utilizing vessel-mounted multibeam echo sounders (MBES), resulting in Digital Terrain Models (DTMs) of the seafloor and derived products. Previous knowledge of the seafloor depth and existing features is essential for surveyors to effectively design a survey, estimate mapping efforts, compensate for data gaps, and evaluate and visualize results. The scientific community has put in a great effort to develop and make publicly available bathymetric models of the seafloor, such as that by EMODNET and GEBCO, and customized tools for fulfilling application specific requirements. These data and software …

Complexes of atomic gold with a variety of ligands have been formed by passing helium nanodroplets (HNDs) through two pickup cells containing gold vapor and the vapor of another dopant, namely a rare gas, diatomic molecule (H2, N2, O2, I2, P2), or various polyatomic molecules (H2O, CO2, SF6, C6H6, adamantane, imidazole, di-cyclopentadiene, and fullerene). The doped HNDs were irradiated by electrons; ensuing cations were identified in a high-resolution mass spectrometer. Anions were detected for benzene, di-cyclopentadiene, and fullerene. For most …
