Sununu Approval Continues To Drop; Record Low Feel Nh Headed In Right Direction 10/22/2021, Unh Survey Center
All UNH Survey Center Polls
Approval of Governor Chris Sununu's job performance continues to fall, nearing a new low point for his administration, although a slim majority continue to approve of his job as governor. Only four in ten New Hampshire residents feel the state is headed in the right direction, a record low, driven by steep declines among Independents and Democrats. Granite Staters most frequently mention the COVID-19 pandemic and jobs or the economy as the most important problem facing the state.

All UNH Survey Center Polls
New Hampshire residents are divided between incumbent Democratic Senator Maggie Hassan and her possible Republican challengers for the 2022 Senate election. Current Governor Chris Sununu is the strongest potential challenger, followed by former Senator Kelly Ayotte and retired General Don Bolduc, the only announced Republican candidate in the race. Hassan's popularity in the state continues to decline and for the first time a majority have an unfavorable view of her, while Sununu's popularity has also fallen in recent months.

Northern post-glacial lakes are significant, increasing sources of atmospheric carbon through ebullition (bubbling) of microbially-produced methane (CH4) from sediments. Ebullitive CH4 flux correlates strongly with temperature, reflecting that solar radiation drives emissions. However, here we show that the slope of the temperature-CH4 flux relationship differs spatially across two post-glacial lakes in Sweden. We compared these CH4 emission patterns with sediment microbial (metagenomic and amplicon), isotopic, and geochemical data. The temperature-associated increase in CH4 emissions was greater in lake middles—where methanogens were more abundant—than edges, and sediment communities were distinct between edges and middles. Microbial …

All UNH Survey Center Polls
Former President Donald Trump continues to lead other Republicans in the early stages of the 2024 Republican presidential primary contest in New Hampshire. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is viewed slightly more favorably by likely Republican primary voters than Trump, earns the second most support and is the second choice among most Trump supporters. On the Democratic side, a plurality hope President Joe Biden faces a primary opponent but no alternative candidate has been identified. The personal popularity of Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris in the state continues to erode and both are at their lowest point in the …
