Fifteen percent of southern New England and New Hampshire residents legally bet on sports at least occasionally: 2% bet a few times a week or more often, 1% bet a few times a month, less than 1% bet once a month, 5% bet a few times a year, and 6% bet less often than that. Massachusetts and Connecticut residents are most likely to bet legally on sports, while New Hampshire residents are least likely to do so.

New Hampshire Early Care and Education Research Consortium
The inaugural NH ECE Research Consortium convening in May 2025 welcomed nearly 50 attendees from 29 organizations for a half-day session connecting over research and data. Attendees participated in three activities using the Ecocycle Planning framework. The group sorted NH ECE activities and approaches into three main areas: (1) things we value in which we already invest (or plan to), (2) things we value in which we do not invest, and (3) things that need to change or are already changing. Reflections in each area are summarized here in hopes that the synthesis supports our shared and ongoing efforts to …

Three-quarters of New Hampshire residents say they are worried about political violence, while two-thirds are concerned about mass shootings. A majority in the Granite State oppose President Trump's deployment of the National Guard to American cities and few would feel safer if soldiers were deployed to cities in New Hampshire. Approval of Trump's handling of foreign policy, the economy, and his overall job have declined since August, and approval of his handling of the economy is at its lowest point in either of Trump's terms. President Trump’s approval rating remains low as Rhode Islanders disapprove of his use of the National Guard in American cities and have increased fears of political violence. A majority also disapprove of Trump’s handling of the economy and disapprove of his actions directed at the Federal Reserve. Less than one-third of Rhode Islanders approve of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s handling of his job.

More than two-thirds of Connecticut residents are very or somewhat worried about political violence and mass shootings harming them or their family, while a majority are also worried about a foreign terrorist attack. Just over half of Massachusetts residents approve of the job Governor Maura Healey has done and say that she deserves to be re-elected. Many Republican primary voters are largely undecided about the candidate they want to face Healey. In the race for U.S. Senate from Massachusetts, less than half of Bay Staters believe incumbent Ed Markey deserves to be re-elected. Former Senator John E. Sununu leads 2014 GOP nominee Scott Brown for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate in 2026, both of whom trail Congressman Chris Pappas for the general election. Granite Staters are divided on whether Governor Kelly Ayotte deserves another term in office but very few have an opinion on two prospective Democratic candidates for governor. In New Hampshire's First Congressional District, most likely Republican voters are undecided on whom they will support, while Democratic primary voters show a preference for Stefany Shaheen, though more than half remain undecided. Just over half of adults in Connecticut approve of Governor Ned Lamont's job performance and are divided on whether he deserves to be re-elected. Less than half of state Democrats want potential Democratic candidates William Tong, Susan Bysiewicz, or Sean Scanlon to run for governor. On state issues, a majority oppose a proposal by Lamont to use state pension funds to purchase part of the WNBA's Connecticut Sun as part of a plan to keep the team in the state. Dr. Robyn Barbato is from the Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory where she studies the permafrost microbiome. She and her research group have thawed and mixed terrestrial ice and permafrost to study the resulting microbiome.
