A majority of residents of New Hampshire and Southern New England (57%) plan to eat turkey for Thanksgiving this year, 28% plan to watch football, 26% plan to travel somewhere in their state, 25% plan to host friends or family from somewhere else in their state, 17% plan to travel somewhere outside of their state, 12% plan to host friends or family from outside of their state, and 9% do not plan on doing any of these things. More than four in five Massachusetts residents believe prices for everyday goods have increased over the past year and more than two-thirds expect them to continue rising over the coming year. Half of state residents believe the overall U.S. economy will experience bad times over the next year and two-thirds believe the economy is getting worse. More than three-quarters of Granite Staters say prices on everyday items have increased in the past year and a majority expect that to continue. High energy prices are also a major concern. Only one in five expect good business conditions nationally over the next year and a majority believe the country's economy is on the decline. The 2026 Democratic primary for governor of Rhode Island remains unclear, as a plurality of likely voters are undecided on their choice of candidate. Helena Foulkes currently holds a slight lead over prospective candidate and Speaker of the RI House Joe Shekarchi and incumbent Governor Dan McKee. McKee is very unpopular among likely Democratic primary voters and suffers from low job approval among Rhode Islanders overall. Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont announced he will seek re-election in 2026, a decision backed by more than half of likely Democratic primary voters. Lamont holds a large early lead in the race for the Democratic nomination over State Representative Josh Elliott, who is largely unknown to Democratic primary voters. The cost of living is seen as the biggest problem facing the state, followed by taxes, housing, and the economy. Many Connecticut residents report limiting their time in Hartford due to concerns about crime.

Congressman Chris Pappas holds a wide lead in the race for the 2026 NH Democratic Senate nomination. On the Republican side, former Senator John E. Sununu leads 2014 GOP nominee Scott Brown, though Brown has closed the gap slightly since September. Approval of Governor Kelly Ayotte's job performance has increased since October. On education, Granite Staters support a bill designed to limit local spending on education but oppose reducing the number of SAUs in the state. Housing remains the most important problem facing the state, followed by the cost of living and taxes.

Dr. Heather Glon is the Lobster Research Biologist with the Maine Department of Marine Resources (ME DMR). She will be primarily presenting an overview of her lobster life history research program within ME DMR, and how the interdisciplinary collaborations between research institutions, government agencies, and industry members have facilitated big steps forward within research on one of the most valuable fisheries within the United States. Heather will also provide her perspective on her path to ME DMR, and what a research career at the State level entails.

Support for President Trump's handling of the economy continues to decline in New Hampshire, with tariffs most often cited as the reason. A slight majority support the deal to end the recent federal government shutdown, but more than two-thirds of Democrats oppose it. Bipartisan majorities believe furloughed federal workers and those who kept working during the shutdown should receive backpay, while half support extending Obamacare premium subsidies. Half of state residents disapprove of the recent sinking of suspected drug trafficking boats off the Venezuelan coast and nearly two-thirds oppose using the military to remove Venezuelan President Nicholas Maduro from power.
