Support For Ukraine Aid Increases Among Granite Staters, Biden Not Getting A Bounce From War Effort 4/19/2022, Unh Survey Center
All UNH Survey Center Polls
Granite Staters are more supportive of actions the U.S. has taken in response to the war in Ukraine since the Russian invasion in February. Despite increasing support for Ukraine, a majority of Granite Staters disapprove of President Joe Biden's handling of the war and overall foreign policy, and nearly half think the U.S. should be doing more to help Ukraine.

Ultimate Graduation Party, Paige Mcafee
M. S. in Project Management
“Ultimate Graduation Party” is about the planning, execution, and clean-up of a hypothetical graduation party for 45 guests. It will be an under the sea themed costume party with catering, a live DJ, photo booth, and more at a venue in southern New Hampshire. I chose this project because I felt that planning a party would be both fun and useful. The project management documents I create now can be used or altered by me to plan a variety of professional events in the future. The waterfall methodology was used to manage the project.

Work-Life Balance, Aimee Lee
Work-Life Balance, Aimee Lee
M.S. in Leadership
This project was to identify if there is a work-life balance in the banking industry, and how managers understand the concept. Six managers of different demographics were surveyed and the results show three important themes; that the leaders need to have great knowledge of the work and their employees, that home issues and work issues need to be separate and balanced, and that excellent communication is required of both the leaders and the employees so that everyone can advocate successfully for their needs, and the needs of the corporation. The results will be shared with the Human Resources Department to …

Yemen And The Dynamics Of Foreign Intervention In Failed States, Bryn Lauer
Yemen And The Dynamics Of Foreign Intervention In Failed States, Bryn Lauer
Inquiry Journal Spring 2022
Yemen’s civil war has been labeled one of the worst modern-day humanitarian crises. In 2014 the Houthi tribal group in Yemen rebelled, the government of Yemen disintegrated, and Yemen, with no functioning government or effective rule of law, became a failed state. Saudi Arabia and Iran have intervened in the Yemen conflict, which has led to a prolonged war. This study seeks to examine why foreign states intervene in failed states and what effects foreign intervention has. I gathered and analyzed data on the history of the conflict, geopolitical and societal trends of each actor, empirical military, domestic, and economic …

Paralegal Training In New Hampshire, Donald Shedd
M.S. in Leadership
The purpose of this research is to examine the possibility of developing and implementing a post-hire, on-the-job training program for entry level paralegals in the State of New Hampshire. According to the National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA), New Hampshire has no formal education or training requirements for paralegals. However, in recent years, states such as Washington, Utah, New York, and California have implemented specialized programs and training opportunities for non-lawyer legal professionals, namely paralegals. This research surveyed current working paralegals on their experiences regarding their own training (if any) and their insights into what components they believe should be …
Preventing Sexual Assault In Long-Term Care Facilities: Identifying Strategies For Facilities And State Survey Agencies, Erlon Jones
M.S. in Leadership
This project was conducting research to identify strategies and approaches to prevent the sexual assault of residents in long-term living facilities. This subject area was selected due to the increase of resident-to-resident sexual assaults in long-term care facilities, and the need for leadership in addressing this situation. Research was conducted in several areas including elder care, facility management, sexual assault advocacy. The results provide several recommendations and strategies for facilities to utilize to prevent sexual assaults, and provide State Agencies a rubric to investigate alleged sexual assaults. This will provide an important foundation to address this critical issue across the …
The Troubled Teen Industry And Its Effects: An Oral History, C. Jamie Mater
The Troubled Teen Industry And Its Effects: An Oral History, C. Jamie Mater
Inquiry Journal Spring 2022
In 2021, I received a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) to study the effects of the system I lived in from ages 13 to 16: the troubled teen industry. The troubled teen industry (TTI) consists of thousands of underregulated residential youth treatment facilities. These treatment facilities operate on a for-profit basis and trace their origins back to the 1958 cult Synanon. Many cases of abuse have been reported about these facilities, including deaths. Adolescents are sent into the TTI for anything from truancy to depression to drug addiction. My research focused on gaining first-hand insight into people’s experiences surrounding one …

Noaa Hurricane Preparedness Summit 2022, Crrc
Coastal Response Research Center
On April 20-21, 2022, NOAA’s Disaster Preparedness Program partnered with Coastal Response Research Center (CRRC) to facilitate three webinars focusing on NOAA’s hurricane preparedness and readiness for personnel (people), mission, and infrastructure (PMI). The virtual event entitled “NOAA Hurricane Preparedness Summit 2022,” helped put NOAA in a better posture for the 2022 hurricane season by identifying best practices and lessons learned from the 2021 season, recognizing challenges specific to the Pacific Islands, and socializing tools and resources available to support different stages of storm landfall.
Specific objectives for this year’s Summit were to:
1. Understand best practices and lessons learned …
