Energy And Angular Distribution Of Electrons Ejected From Hydrogen And Helium Gas By Protons, M. Eugene Rudd, Theodore Jorgensen Jr.
Energy And Angular Distribution Of Electrons Ejected From Hydrogen And Helium Gas By Protons, M. Eugene Rudd, Theodore Jorgensen Jr.
M. Eugene Rudd Publications
Differential cross sections for ejection of secondary electrons of various energies at various angles were measured for hydrogen gas bombarded by 100-keV protons and for helium gas bombarded by 50-, 100-, and 150-keV protons. The range of angles investigated was 10° to 160° and the range of electron energies was 1 to 500 eV. A unique fixed-port, double-walled scattering chamber was used. Electrons were counted by an electron multiplier after passing through a 127° electrostatic analyzer. The efficiency of the detector was determined by replacing the analyzer and multiplier by a Faraday cup and making absolute measurements of cross sections …

Unilateral Refusals To Deal As A Method Of Deterring Private Antitrust Litigants: A Legitimate Method Of Economic Coercion?, Robert Grimit
Unilateral Refusals To Deal As A Method Of Deterring Private Antitrust Litigants: A Legitimate Method Of Economic Coercion?, Robert Grimit
Nebraska Law Review
The role which the private litigant plays in the enforcement of the antitrust laws, either by an action to recover treble damages or to enjoin antitrust violations, is of increasing importance. As these actions become more frequent, additional problems are raised. One such problem is the use of a unilateral refusal to deal as a deterrent to the effective use of the treble damage suit by the private litigant. Two recent parallel cases have dealt with the question of allowing temporary injunctive relief where the defendant has refused to deal with a plaintiff asking for treble damages. In House of …
Transfers Of Stock Pursuant To Post-Marital Property Settlements—A Taxable "Exchange" In Common-Law Jurisdictions, Bruce B. Graves
Transfers Of Stock Pursuant To Post-Marital Property Settlements—A Taxable "Exchange" In Common-Law Jurisdictions, Bruce B. Graves
Nebraska Law Review
The question of the taxability of post-marital property settlements involving the transfer of appreciated stock has been answered by our highest tribunal. But the ramifications of its opinion are likely to extend considerably beyond what one might expect from only a cursory reading of this case. Through Davis v. United States, the Supreme Court has once again, as in the early thirties, applied the revenue laws in a manner which results in geographical discrimination. The ensuing disparity, as well as the intent of Congress to eliminate tax inequality between community property and common-law jurisdictions, has been minimized in order …

Exhaustion Of State Remedies Before Bringing Federal Habeas Corpus: A Reappraisal Of U.S. Code Section, Merritt James
Exhaustion Of State Remedies Before Bringing Federal Habeas Corpus: A Reappraisal Of U.S. Code Section, Merritt James
Nebraska Law Review
There are many instances in which a state's prisoner, after being denied his liberty for years, has subsequently, upon issuance of federal writ of habeas corpus, either been proven innocent or adjudged entitled to a new trial upon grounds that he was denied some constitutional right during the process of his state court trial. In some of these cases it has been clear from the very beginning that if the allegations of the writ were proven, the detention was unconstitutional. Yet the prisoner is still forced to endure years of confinement while exhausting state remedies before federal habeas corpus is …

Irs, Expense Accounts, And The Cohan Rule—An Exercise In Loophole Closing, Bruce Graves
Irs, Expense Accounts, And The Cohan Rule—An Exercise In Loophole Closing, Bruce Graves
Nebraska Law Review
Travel and entertainment expenses, as tax deductions, were the subject of sweeping changes in the Revenue Act of 1962. The enactment was Congress's answer to a problem which had troubled the Internal Revenue Service since the early forties. Shortly after the appearance of the new statute, the IRS laid out its own set of regulations on the same subject. The new rules, as enacted by Congress and supplemented by the Service, conveyed the message to American taxpayers that approximations in travel and entertainment deductions would no longer be allowed. The new rule: Substantiate the expenditure or face complete disallowance. The …

Pollution-Caused Fish Kills In 1962
Other Publications in Wildlife Management
This publication is the third annual report of fish kills caused by pollution occurring in the United States. The reporting of pollution-caused fish kills was begun by the Public Health Service in the Spring of 1960 in an effort to secure additional information on the effects of pollution in the Nation's waters, to elicit the cooperation and assistance of conservation groups in the States to help determine causes of fish kills and assist in their abatement, and to place responsibility for fish kills where it belonged.
The Surgeon General asked all State conservation and fish and game agencies to assist …
A Pattern For You : Clothing Leaflet 1
A Pattern For You : Clothing Leaflet 1
Nebraska 4-H Clubs: Historical Materials and Publications
A requirement for good-looking clothes is a good pattern, correct in size and design for you, and suitable in design for the fabric. Most pattern companies base the size of their patterns on a standard scale of measurements which is printed on the pattern envelope. You may find that one kind of pattern fits you better than any other and requires less adjustment and fitting. Tables of the measurements in use by each company are given in the counter pattern books.
