OXFORD, Miss. – Mark Paukune, of Fort Worth, Texas, struggled with learning disabilities throughout his education, but he persevered and built a successful career in investment banking. Now, the University of Mississippi graduate wants to help other students who face similar challenges earn their college degrees.

This research is investigating how to increase intrinsic motivation within the general education classroom using classroom lessons and procedures. Research was gathered using One Search on the University of Mississippi library website. After narrowing down the research, I used information to inform the making of my Unit by Design and procedural guide. Through research we found that in order to support intrinsic motivation that students need three psychological needs to meet: relatedness, competency, and autonomy. The best ways to meet these needs in classroom gamification, teacher motivation, and movement integration. There are things that you can do to help support …

Symmetrization In Isoperimetric Inequalities And Related Problems, Alexander Solynin

Since its invention by Jacob Steiner in 1838, symmetrization method had found numerous applications in mathematics and its applications. As well known, Steiner introduced his symmetrization when searching for a geometric tool to solve the classical isoperimetric problem on the maximal area for planar regions with fixed perimeter. After Steiner, many outstanding mathematicians, including George Pólya, Gabor Szegő, James Jenkins, Igor Mityuk, Al Baernstein II, Vladimir Dubinin, introduced new symmetrizing procedures, each time targeting some unsolved extremal problem.
In the first part of this talk, I will introduce some of these transformations and discuss their applications to extremal problems in …
