Parallel Plot Visualization For Novice Users, R.J.R. Yusof, N. Jomhari, R. Zainuddin, M.S. Baba, Z.M. Yusoff

Parallel Plot for novice users is discussed. A relational model of parallel coordinate was used for analysis based on an interface called PaCQ. The advantage and disadvantages of parallel plot is discussed. Although through literatures it wasfound that parallel plot does not score well in graphical perceptibility among users, results shows that novice users can interpret parallel plots relatively well. The GOMS analysis of tasks related to parallel plot also shows that the time taken to complete tasks related to the parallel plot is relatively reasonable, well below 10s. However, their recitation is sometimes without comprehension especially to those who do not understand Arabic language. To help reduce this comprehension problem, visualization is proposed based on the theory that the learning process involves the perception and the processing stages. In particular, the visualization helps to support the perception stage and is used as a strategy to solve the word recognition with meaning retrieval problem. This paper will focus on social intervention for the Muslim hard core poor. Social intervention is defined as the planned human activity that intervenes in and possibly alters the social environment. This study was conducted on the hard core poor whereby data was collected through a questionnaire using non-random sampling of 294 respondents from all states in Malaysia.
